Thank you, sir! I am grateful for a place to learn digital photography (for virtually no metriculation fees,) have some fun, and even hone my mental/debate skills! We may often differ philosophically here, but we all agree that great digital photography must always be the focus (pardon the pun.)

From what I can tell, you have remained "low-key" and "on-track." KUDOS! :)

This website has really turned my life around! Im serious...I see things in a whole new way now. There are great knowledgable people/members on this site, and I am thankful for them as well. Because without them, I would not be progressing as fast as I am, or even progressing as a photographer at all! Thanks Langdon, DPC site council, and DPC members. You have made a difference in my life!

Regards,

Jamie

Aw, come on guys. A little whining (or 'whinging' as I've learned it's spelled in other places, thankyousomuchDPC) is good here and there. It allows people to connect and reset their perspectives. Good times!

This IS a fantastic site and I find that as I grow (I think I'm growing?) in photography, exactly what I get out of it continues to change. Every several months I'll log in and I'll suddenly discover a whole new treasure trove of stuff I could never really process before!

And I still can't believe how humble DPC's origins are... and how slick a site it's become! Impressive all around!

((PS - and it's a self-esteem booster - I am now able to spot a good chunk of the photomanip on models in magazines - take that corporate media!))

I'm jumping on to say thanks too. I have learned so much from the short time I've been here and seen many photos and people who have inspired me. I've been on some other sites and haven't got nearly the feedback or help that I've received here. Today has been a rough day in the forums with a lot of negative talk and comments. I'm not saying that people shouldn't express their feeling or concerns but rarely do you see people expressing gratitude, and that goes for me too. So I say again, thanks to Langdon, the SC and all you who participate who make this a nice place to come to and learn. WE all could be nicer or friendlier from time to time.Trevor~

Same here as all the others, this site has been great. I have been here since 2003 and I have learned so much and meet so many nice people here either in GTG's here in NYC or traveling out of state. Yes some people did leave or we have had a our little discussions here in the forums that may have turned ugly but again lol its a forum. But anyway for 25 bucks a year and you get to learn so much and meet lots of nice people I dont think you can go wrong. I dont know but maybe if it was not for this site I may not have started my photo business on the side or would have had my own site. I have always been into photography but DPC really got me into it more.

Sad part is im a apart of another forum that recently found out the forum was sold off 3 years ago and no one knew all the administrators and the sites creator are still there and only so much has changed from time to time.

3 years and they neevr knew it had been sold off!

Yeah, I must say, I've learned a lot from this site and it's community; about photography, processing, expressing myself through images, and I think I've learned 1001 new ways to complain even when there's nothing wrong. I'm really glad to have found this thread taking the time to thank Langdon. Awesome work :)

If this were the movie, "The Matrix", Langdon would be the "Architect". The SC would flying around in the Nebuchadnezzar hovercrafts and we (members/users) would be hanging out in Zion. ;-)

You guys are so lucky. I was about to douse you all with my newly obtained Watergun of Truth, and you do *NOT* want to know what Jeffrey has been putting in that water...

HOWEVER

Langdon just posted my tutorials, so He Rocks!!! for at least a couple days.

bump - because I felt like it. :-)

No ribbon yet, but in almost 2 years I have learned so much. For example, I just stopped myself from entering an ugly (though nicely composed) leading lines shot that I knew would tank, just so I would have an update button... That in itself is an accomplishment!
I am grateful for this website's existence. YIPPEE DPC!!
IT's FUN, right?

Adding my thanks to Langdon, Drew and the SC too. This site rocks!!!! Haven't had the 'snapshot' comment for many a challenge now, but without people taking the time to vote, to give honest comments, give helpful advice on how to improve my work I'd still be taking them. If I want someone to say 'great shot' I'll show my stuff to friends and family ...... if I want to improve and find out if I achieved what I was trying to do, I bring it here.

Special thanks to the SC for their dedication. This is a 'job' that at times you guys must wonder why on earth you bother to volunteer for ((((hugs)))

Not to mention the online friendships, the side challenges, tutorials ..........

ETA and the Update button!

Erm. What has happened to Drew? Has he left? He seems to have been edited out of the history of DPC a little in this thread and I'm just wondering. No, I'm not trying to stir up trouble, it's a genuine question.

I too am happy to add my thanks to those who provide this site, both Admin and SC and all the contributing members too. THANK YOU!

well, I think we all appreciate you anyway...

As stated by many here, there are many more important things contributed by all the fine members (including Langdon), then shirts, mugs, and hats.

Man, am I dense.

"glad2badad" - Barry, I kept reading it as "Glad to Badad". Figured it meant something to you...

I just got it - Glad 2 B A Dad. The capitalization escaped me.

Good name.

The only thing that pisses me off is that I wish I'da thunk it up and it was mine!

Instead I just have to explain that I have the spoiled, only-child princess of weird older parents......8>)

Yeah - didn't this used to be the Drew and Langdon show? Thanks to Langdon and to Drew where ever you are.
