Day 12, I had planned to work ahead so that I could post some to take care of vacation absence ... but life got in the way.

Though not "officially" in the side challenge, I have been inspired to learn some new techniques and jump in here once in a while.
At least I have tossed in a bunch of stuff in the library for all to use, as well as share the editing process, and comment where I can, when I can.
I do want to thanks all those that have commented on what I have shared.

A couple of the latest Mad Scientist experiments:

These kinda' creep me out, not sure which I like best yet:

This one was tough for me today. I don't think I did
this building justice, but after much experimentation
it was time to call it a day and move on.

Did you create those texture files? If so, how? And the one I did play with I used as a "smart object" - I've never worked with .png files before - is there another way I should be using them?

I'm not THAT good to have created them - I can't even spell png. I found them in a folder in a freeware program I have.
In regards to png files, they are supposed to be a bit better than jpegs. This will make more sense:

PNG
Short for Portable Network Graphics, the third graphics standard supported by the Web (though not supported by all browsers). PNG was developed as a patent-free answer to the GIF format but is also an improvement on the GIF technique. An image in a lossless PNG file can be 5%-25% more compressed than a GIF file of the same image. PNG builds on the idea of transparency in GIF images and allows the control of the degree of transparency, known as opacity. Saving, restoring and re-saving a PNG image will not degrade its quality. PNG does not support animation like GIF does.

I use them just like a psd or jpeg and make any changes to it when applied in a new layer such as Ctrl+T to freely transform, invert, alter colors, etc etc just like any other image in a new layer.

I took one of my barn images and added an overlay that I created in Photoshop Elements. The idea was to make it look like I spilled something on the print.
