As far as the modern color Film Noir I look to Patrick Hoelck. I know I am not in the same league but his work is masterful & inspiring. |

Day 3
[thumb]641973[/thumb]
I'm tired. Saturday started at about 7pm when I met ericwoo, his wife, and two of their friends. We shot a local band live at The Alley in Rome(some photos here: Haven). I took 711 photos that night which ended when I got home and uploaded the photos from the cards to the puter at 3:30 am.
Got up this morning at 7am to meet a model Erica at Berry College for a shoot(some photos here: Erica) where I took about 500 shots and that ended around 3pm today.
Which means I have about 1,200 photos to sift through and weed out the bad ones.
So I am tired and really didn't feel like taking the camera in my hand again today because when I put it down it still feels like I have it in my hand for some reason.
Then on top of all that I get a notice that my membership is going to expire in 21 days. Which normally is no big deal but last time I bought extra space and am not sure I want the extra space with already having a smugmug account. So I have to trim my portfolio here down and a lot of photos are going to be disappearing in my portfolio and some already have to make room for the self portraits and the band shots coming soon.
Sorry for the soapbox. Back to your regularly scheduled program.
ETA: I just took alot of my stuff out of my portfolio here and lost 4 favorites. Oops!

Well not just Floyd, but more specifically lyrics from Dark Side of the Moon. My original plan was to do the entire song eclipse line by line, but looking ahead i couldn't come up with good ideas for some of the lines so I expanded it to the entire album. |

That's what I thought (and hoped) you were going to do. I was waitin' on "All that you taste" for day three. |

Excellent...I'm really looking forward to which lyrics you choose. Suits your photographic style perfectly too imho...

OK, this is tough! I admire all of you who get these great shots, with great lighting and good FOCUS! I will learn a lot, no doubt about that!

Day 4 I was thinking about continuing this editing as my theme, but I don't want everyone to get tired of it. I have a new idea, but I'm not quite sure how to execute it. If anyone has the time to help me I would really appreciate it! :)

What do you have in mind?

I want to do a theme using poses from some of my favorite paintings.
This one is my version of Edvard Munch's The Scream. I'm not sure how much to commit to making it look like a painting, or how modern I should make them look. I have tons of others concerns, but that's a start.
I played around with the contrast/curves as suggested. I'm really no good at editing!

I swore this wouldn't be an editing marathon after yesterday, and it still took me over an hour (but at least it was about 1 minute to shoot).

We all knew it was coming, creepy light under the chin image. 6-; I prefer the b/w version myself, but since I did apply a bit of makeup, the textures are just fun... hmmm
Here is a colour version and a second try version.

I should have added that, I was gonna and well plum forgot L()L. What that is, is that my big'O'Head wasn't big enough to hide the stand that was holding my speedlight behind me. Yeah, an inch off in my position and a bigold thing sticking out my chin L()L.

The line "I think I'm cracking up" from "Basket Case" by Green Day.
I can't help thinking that this looks a bit like a shot of Holly from "Red Dwarf" (not Hattie Hayridge, but rather the Norman Lovett incarnation)
