Okay....since we're trying to cheer you up, Sara.....first a soft, pink flower for you:[thumb]552076[/thumb]
Then a decadent snack......take it carefully!!!! [thumb]502592[/thumb]
Followed by some youth and exuberance at the beach: [thumb]498130[/thumb]
Ending up with a clear, peaceful night: [thumb]630023[/thumb]
Best wishes for a better frame of mind.

Heh. I've bought exactly one print that wasn't my own shot, and that was it!
Fellow TSer BAMartin took the only other one I've seriously considered buying:

Thanks guys, you have done a good job of cheering me up! My non-habiting other-half (aka the bf - but that sounds wrong at my age...) is shortly coming round to pick me up and take me back to his, so shaln't be logging in til Sunday evening. A couple of days of alternative scenery will be good! |

Aw what the heck - call him a boyfriend, though at our age we should probably at least spell it out. :-) (And where can I find one of those?) |

I always feel like Frau Blucher when I say "boyfriend". My *ahem* boyfriend and I prefer the term "virtual spouse", although I can see why some boyfriends might be inclined to run a mile if you use that phrase. :) |

Jeff, if you would PM your address to me, I would love to make a gift of this print to you. After all, it was you that introduced me to Team Suck. |

Awesome image. Telling is the fact that it has 1,700+ views since voting ended (in 2005); the one "above it" has 160 or so views, the one "below it" 270 or so. Seems to say a lot more than the score ever will (actually, the score tells more about DPC than it does about the image, I suppose). Excellent work.
Best,
Bruce

OMG, I hope it's OK with you Don. But I just had to put your quote on my profile page as a favorite DPC quote. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Will credit the Team Suck Master, of course.

I just realized that my December Free Study shot had been chosen earlier in January as the "Photo of the Day" at EarthShots.org. I missed it because the day it was chosen I was on my way back to the UK from Germany, with an early flight and a moderately late arrival.
Even though I missed the day it was on the front page, I'm still psyched :)

Hey, Robert, congratulations!
And yes, I think the Posthumous Prayer might make it onto my profile page, too. :) |

I almost had a shot for "eyes" today. I was at an event somewhere and noticed a guy with a bald head that has a tattoo of a set of eyes on the back of his head. I almost asked if I could take his picture, then thought about his skin-head appearence and the thousands of $$ in equipment in my hand, and the $ it would take to replace my teeth...and thought better of it. :) |

Hmm....
Interesting sort of opening. You looking for discussion at all?
Reading the words from Poe, Fitzgerald, and in particular, Bukowski hit all too close to home for my past experiences.
Alcohol and drugs kill more good people by protracted suicide than everything else combined.....and ruin many lives of the people who love them.

... what Jeb said ... with huge attention to the fact that alcoholism and drug abuse is not as lonely an endeavour as most will expound. It is extremely harmful and heartless to people around the abuser whether friends or family or even (often) total strangers.
I better leave it at that ...

Nope. Just thought it was interesting what some of America's best writers had to say about alcohol. |

I have had some weird views on my blog lately. It's weird because I don't give the link to anyone but friends and normally only get maybe 5 to 10 views in a whole week. But the last couple weeks, I've been getting lots of views on Saturdays. Last Saturday was 17, today was 40. So, trying to trace back through the links on Statcounter I found that I was actually a runner up in the 2006 Everyman photography contest. Go figure. 2006 Everyman results / Nature. |

Umm...I had a really strange and troubling experience happen today, and I'd appreciate your honest, but gently put thoughts.
I started a thread about it, 'cause I genuinely want to get a feel from people who may have gone through the same thing, but this group is always more deeply insightful and thoughtful with their impressions.
I'm not so sure I'm going to sleep well tonite.
When is it creepy?
