When will they be available, and for how much? I didn't see any prices or availability dates on the new Sigma lenses for example. Not even at the Sigma website.
Anybody familiar with these type of releases - what's the precedent?
Amazon.com reports that the XSi will ship on April 15th (that's 2.5 months out!), while B&H gives no ship date. I thought the 40D was available fairly (<1 month) quickly after it's release... was I mistaken? |

usually several months later, in terms of easy availability. Particularly for new camera bodies. Can end up being a lot more, because there's only really one big show (PMA) a year so the manufacturers aim to hit that, even if the product isn't quite ready to ship. Every second (even numbered) year Photokina helps reduce that stress a bit, I suppose and it is bigger than PMA.

| Canon itself announced a vague April release date for the 450D. So that's when the very early adopters will be getting theirs. |
