25 vote check in: 6.1200
It would be grand if that could stay about 6.0 (it would also be a first for me), but for now I'm pleasantly surprised it is doing as well as it is.

After an initially disappointing start (6.1 after 19 votes) I am very pleased to start my 2008 campaign after a work-induced photography break with:

I'm really disappointed. I like this shot, I know it's not a ribbon-winner by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought it would at least be on par with the rest of my completely average scores.

That's around what I expected. I think the photo is nice, but nothing special, and too far from a "typical" architecture shot. |

6.75 average vote.
My best score so far, hope it holds or dare I say go a little higher. I really like me shot but wasn't sure how it would stack up against the peanut gallery. Not too bad so far... |

It's been up and then back down 0.3, which isn't so surprising given the low number of votes so far. Still thrilled!

I agree, the overall quality of the entries is high. It's a pleasure to look through the images. |

I had better places to shoot except it ws -47 with the windchill here (celsius? fahrenheit? At that temperature it no longer matters) and the only stuff I had to draw from was from last Friday. Not too bad but not great. If this finishes at 5.3 I'll be satisfied. |

It's kind of a bummer for the three images that have been DQ'd already!

I'm considering requesting a self-DQ. It's shocking to me how my pic looks on my laptop I edit on, and how different it is on my CRT at work. I'm almost embarrassed by the things I see now, that I didn't before. |

Maybe I should have gone w/ one of my other shots. I may have oversaturated a bit (not that anyone has told me that - it just looks that way now that I can't change it, lol), but I thought the composition was more interesting. Well, at least my 1 commentor agrees, lol.
How well would a full shot of a building do in the Free Study, I wonder? Better than an animal portrait?

My photo was in free fall, but now it's gently coasting...the parachute finally opened! |

I'm having a little trouble breathing the thin air up here. If this holds, it'll FAR surpass any other pair of challenges I've ever had going at once (I'm at 6.7 in Birds). And I'm pretty excited about my free study entry, too.
