Does anyone use a GPS image tracker on your camera?

Here's one that seems simple enough, and it's due to ship tomorrow.

It says compatible with any camera but under the compatibility tab it only lists SONY cameras.

ETA: Never mind, your camera just needs to use EXIF 2.1

I heard something about GPS in Hasselblad cameras that records information to image header where the image was taken, but I don't think this is the same thing :P

there is a little box on the top right to learn more about the product. All it does is record GPS data and when you upload your pictures and the GPS log and use the software they have, it reads the time from the EXIF and then from the GPS log and uses the coordinates from that time to 'locate' the picture on a map.

it seems like this could be done pretty easily with most GPS devices that keep a track log

So, does it use software to add tags to EXIF data? If so, don't do it to your originals for DPC submission, as your EXIF would no longer be valid.

I haven't read the info in great detail, but I think you run the utility after copying the images from camera to computer? That's when it updates the EXIF, is how I'm interpreting it.

So if you copy from camera to first folder, then save off those images into a second "originals" folder, then work with the GPS utility in the first folder, you should be okay.
