Congratulation, nshapiro!!

You have won yourself a low-budget DPC hat. Hope you like it. PM me with your mailing info.

I'm getting another one made, by the way. Same hat, different embroidery guy, and a little more thought put into the design. First Gear has agreed to work with me even though I'm only doing 1 or 2 hats at a time. I've done a lot of business with them for the college(where i work) in the past. I may even look into giving away a coffee mug sometime soon. I need one here at work. I may simply put [update] on it. Just having some fun...

Anyway, I'll post the hat when I pick it up next week. In the mean time, I wish I could think of a more creative way to give up this hat and mug. Any ideas?

You could give it to whoever leaves the most thoughtful comment in the Feb. shoot/comment challenge: Natural Scene side challenge.

I cheerfully offer that without knowing how you chose Neil to receive this hat. :)

For the mug -

What about one of those "disappearing" mugs (where the picture appears or diappears when a hot liquid is added).

When cold, it could have the update button, and then when hot it could appear to have a graph of scores - preferably heavily weighted to high scores, lol. Or the "hot" could be a photo from the winner's portfolio, maybe the highest scoring or highest ribboning shot on their page?

Sounds like it's getting a little out of my budget. I've never heard of a 'disappearing' mug. I had a photo put on a mug a few years back and it really didn't turn out half bad. It's one of my most used coffee mugs.

Not sure if I should give it to a commenter of a challenge I'm entering, but I like the idea of giving it to a good commenter.

For the last hat I just took the first 10 people to respond to my thread and gave it to the highest scorer in the 'best of' challenge. sort of a fastest fingers thing. :)

I think I pretty much called the winner in the original thread. What really surprised me was that I actually was able to manage second amongst all those talented photographers! I really expected to be down low on that list.

Here's a Magic Mug offered by snapfish for $15.

I've seen commercial ones where Van Gough's ear disappears, Henry VIII's wives disappear, and Adam and Eve's fig leaves disappear!
