I hear yah. My 2002 did better too.
Personally, I have a really hard time picking my "Best Of" -
Subpar scores each time.

I am actually suprised by my score right now. I don't think I entered a typical DPC friendly image, and I definately entered a shot that I considered to be a favorite of the year. The whole time I was editing my spousal unit kept telling me it wasn't my best shot of the year. I said it may not be the best, but it definately is one of my favorites and I want to enter it. In fact it was almost a free study of mine but I chose a different one that month, so I was happy to be able to enter it this time around and I wasn't going to pass on the opportunity.
So I took a chance and put it in and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the votes I have received. I have looked at the other threads that are talking about how the images here are losing creativity and it is the same theme over and over. I don't think I followed the same ideas, and despite it being an Advnaced Editing rules challenge I didn't have to use multiple frames to get this shot. Proof that the new rules are not ruining DPC.
I have also seen the threads that are talkig about the dissapointments in the images in this challenge and all I can do is shake my head. There are some stunning images in this challenge and my hat is off to all of you that entered. I don't think I saw a single image that I would vote less than a 5 on. Really magnificant work that you all have done.
While I know that I am not in contention for a ribbon or an HM, I would say that with the quality of images that a top 20 finish would be a significant compliment to my photo. I know the votes and the comments that I have received so far have been a compliment in themselves. Even more surprising is that I haven't received one comment that I feel is negative about my image and that is a definite plus.
Thank you to everyone that has voted and commented, you are the lifeblood of what makes this such a wonderful site. Best of luck to all you as the votes continue in, on this "Best of" challenge.
