This is a huge staghorn I found by the pool, and fell in love with the size, detail, shape, form, color, and textures of this mighty plant..... AWESOME

I had to go into the city today to get electrical supplies, so I stopped on the way back at the only place there where I feel comfortable there. I had about 30 minutes before the park closed and only carried 2 lenses on the boardwalk.

just got home and haven't had time to look or comment yet. This is a neat old junk store that is just about 5 blocks from the Castle i posted yesterday. It does have some neat stuff setting outside sometimes.

I caught up with some commenting and then fell behind again, so in the next few days I'll be working on catching up. Didn't get any photo's taken today, was cornered by the Dr. to get the flu vaccine so was feeling a bit of the side effects today. However I have two photo's taken a couple days ago of my son so I will shamelessly post those :).

It was Grand Central Station at my bird feeders this morning: several kinds of sparrows, Cardinals, Mourning Doves, a House Wren, male and female Downy Woodpeckers, a gaggle of Goldfinches, Slate Juncos, White-breasted Nuthatch, Starlings, Tufted Titmice, and American Robins all on or under the feeders. I settled down to watch the air traffic and had just poured another cup of coffee when they all scattered, and then out of the corner of my eye I saw huge wings slowly beating as someone passed low between my yard and my neighbors on the way to the woods. Hello, hawk :-) RAN into the other room, put the long lens on, quietly hurried out onto the deck and got just a few shots off before he flew away to a less observable area.
So he is Day 17 - 
And now it's snowing steadily :-) Another half hour of this and I'm going to have a pristine yard to photograph - woo-hoo!! |

Im hopeing to get back on track tonight with comments and posing... things took a down turn here which Im not getting in to but trying to keep up with this as best as I can.

Hi all
Writing to you from the Chicago Ohare airport, found the ONLY outlet at my gate and enjoying it! I caught a few pics this am at the Burlington (VT) airport, and in the air

Finally got my adaptor ring today, so went around the house shooting macros and close-ups. This is a leaf of the poinsettia sitting on our windowsill, clinging onto life. Normally, any of these that we've had have died before Christmas Day.
