This picture of my youngest and my mom won me $100 in our newspaper's monthly contest for December:
It's out of focus and a little oddly framed, but hey, it won. This makes $500 I've won from the paper in the past year. The editor is also letting me sell photos of local events on the paper's website. They feature about three or four photos of mine a month, sometimes more, in various stories or articles. I usually just submit stuff that happens with my kids, such as scout events or school programs, but they seem to like them.
Enough horn-tooting...I just wanted to share because I was happy! :)

Congratulations Laurie and nice picture. I just entered an Outdoor Photography Magazine contest for a trip to Kenya. I hope to be able to post a "I won a contest" thread in April.

| Thanks so much! I was pretty excited to get their email and I can't wait to spend a much-needed $100 on something frivolous and unnecessary. ;) Realistically speaking, though...with three birthdays coming up in the next 6 weeks, I will probably just spend it on the boys anyway. :) |
