One minor suggestion / request.
I like to take a first pass and put the entries in an average, below average, or above average bucket, then go back and break them out further, using more of the 1-10 scale. The new feature works for this, but you have to re-enter the vote if you don't want to change it. It would be nice if using the enter key by itself would retain your earlier vote. |
You can use the right arrow key to progress forward. The plus, equal, greater than and period keys will also work.

That was a bug caused by the changes to the voting page. =) I fixed it, but the fix was only useful for a couple days.
Originally posted by ClubJuggle: I doubt that's technically possible, unless you know of a way to detect whether a particular image has loaded in the client's browser? |
It is technically possible using the onload event:
onload="op_stop();enablevote();op_start();" src="...">
Just causing problems. =)

Cool. It looks like that has been added. I now see you get a pop up box if the image hadn't finished loading. Don't ask me how I stumbled upon that though. :P

You know this voting system works awesome. I have voted with it sometimes now that I normally wouldn't have. Just another big thank you to Langdon and all the members of the site council. Cheers! |

Thanks for bumping this. I have been away and did not know this had been put in place, what an awesome feature thanks Langdon :)
I have got a problem though, when I go to my preferences I click on the single tap option but I cant get it to stay there it keeps on reverting to the default hold alt option.
There is prob something very simple that I am doing wrong here, can anyone help?

So, it's been a few weeks since this new ease-of-voting feature has been implemented.
langdon, do you have any figures for us? Did more folks vote during this period than in a similar period last year? Last month? Were the number of the "less than 20%" folks down?

It will be a while before we know whether keypad voting has had a real effect. |

It would be nice if the back arrow was still active. A few times I've voted on an image and as the next image is loading I've decided to go back and change the vote. Hitting the back arrow brings this little popup up. A minor point but something to add to the list? |

Cool. Now the other problem is that it lets people vote under 10 on my shots ;) |

Well I changed my preferens a while back to keyboard voting with the tap + enter key.
Now when I comment on a image when I put a number in that comment it cast that as my vote. I have went back and cut off keyboard voting but it still does the same thing. I can no longer put numbers in with my comments. I ahve tried everything. Even as far as rebooting my computer but it still cast a vote when I type a number.

YOu know, maybe it is just me, But I gave out a 10 the other day, then checked it later on and it was a 1.
I tried it again several times and it woudnt let me do a 10, just automatically gave them a 1 and whizzed off to the next shot. |

You could always spell out your numbers!
Or use Roman Numerals!

I presume you're trying to type '10'? You should try pressing '0' instead to vote 10 :)
