I'm 10 comments shy of 5000 made (though the latest batch made are in current challenges so won't appear in my comments made list just yet).

I'd rather like to make my next 10 comments on some of the best images that DPC has to offer.

So I thought it might be fun to open a thread to ask people to share one image each that you think I might like and may enjoy commenting on. The image chosen can be your own or someone else's; it can be a recent upload or a long-time favourite from months or years ago.

Please post the thumbnail within your message.

I'll be going to friends for NYE but one day next week (assuming anyone responds and there are enough images in this thread) I'll pick my ten favourites from the images posted and make a comment in each one, picking my favourite of the lot for my 5000th comment.

Many moons ago I used to provide really detailed comments, broken down into sections, for the Critique Club. I will endeavour to make these 10 comments similarly considered and, hopefully, useful.

I think this image is one of my faves of the year. I havent pin pointed what I love about it yet but it obviously stirs some emotion in me. :)

A quick look thru your portfolio suggests you like animals and landscapes.
One of my favorite animal shots is this polar bear.

He is a zoo animal with lots of attitude. He 'performs' for the audience all day with routine swimming and posing. I imagine he was taking a break from his laps at this moment. The sun blew out his right side so I had to add 'fur' detail back to make the shot usable. I also removed fencing behind him to make him look like he was more in a natural environment of snow.

I haven't forgotten this, but haven't been able to get online much over last few days and not feeling too great today so will hopefully do this tomorrow or Tuesday! Thanks!

OK have nearly finished:

Timmy, as you posted three, I was going to choose one of them and make it my 5001st but as each one is from a different photographer I didn't like to leave anyone out so I'll try and comment all three later today.

I chose Joey's image as my 5000th as I absolutely fell in love with it!

I just visited your site and so disappointed that yo are no longer a registed member as I love your animal images, especially the cub in a tree..... You have a true gift for photography and hopefully one day you will register again..... Thank you for your lovely images.....

Sherpet, that's kind of you to say but... wildlife photography is so competitive. I'm not being false modest when I say that there are thousands and thousands and thousands with more talent than I. I do think I am reasonably good in that area but... not brilliant! :)
