I printed a proof portfolio for my sister to use to pick her wedding photos....she is so in love with the portfolio she wanted a copy of it ......I told her that I could print a 'coffee table book' that we should use instead!! However, I have never printed the books from Mpix.
She loves the thickness of the paper in the portfolio. Which of the book paper (100#text, pearl or linen) would best resemble that paper?
Thanks... |

I believe the linen upgrade is free. My brides love it ;)
ETA: the text paper is not as heavy as the linen and the linen is nicely textured. You have to download their book maker, but you won't be dissapointed :) Make sure all the photos you are going to use are in one folder on your computer before you start though.

is it 'thick' or thin paper?
I was hesitant to get linen....is it smooth or very textured, I think she wants the smoothness like the E-surface paper.... |

The linen is textured and excellent for still lifes and landscapes. I personally didn't like how faces/portraits looked on it, but YMMV. |

It's thick, not at all like magazine paper. I've only ordered the linen from mpix (mostly greeting cards); that was the first book I've done through them. I don't know about the other papers, sorry! I'm going to try pearl next.
Mpix customer service rocks - you could always ask them which of those papers you mentioned is more popular and go from there? |

thanks L2....I just found some cardstock paper and it said it was 110lb...so now I have a better idea of what the paper thickness would be...
