Well, perhaps in "name only", but my name is in the paper! Along with a picture of the bride I was shooting and her father-in-law in a VERY WINDY scene photographed by a reporter from the Idaho Statesman yesterday.
With raging wind conditions in Boise Idaho, the reporter was out "looking for a story" when he happened to see us out on the temple grounds trying to get pictures. He came up to us and asked if we would allow him to take pictures and put them into the paper. I turned to Nathan and Sarah and said "it's your call" and they agreed. See the picture (and story underneath) here:
Idaho Statesman - High winds cut power, blow down trees and force Bogus to shut down
I didn't show (at the reception) a lot of the overly windy ones. But in some of the images the wind actually adds a lot of dynamic to the image. Here are a few of the images from yesterday:

I have to say ... I was a bit nervous about this one. This was my first paid wedding outside of Utah (about a 5 hour drive from my house). I had only met Sarah a year ago when she was a bridesmaid for wedding I shot down here in Salt Lake. So I felt honored to be asked to go all the way to Boise to shoot the wedding. But at the same time, nervous that I needed to meet expectations. And also nervous that it was my first time ever shooting a wedding in that location so I wasn't sure what to expect. The weather only added to the butterflies. I was sure that by the time we could start pictures the rain would be coming down. But nope .. we only had to deal with the wind. So all went well.
Thanks for looking. :-)

Top quality as always, and I'm glad you didn't get rained on, as well! |

Excellent job under the circumstances. Congrats for being in the right place at the right time to get the extra exposure.

Thanks... Yeah, I don't know if the "exposure" will ever be of any benefit. Being 5 hours away, I don't I'll get much business from Boise. She had a beautiful younger sister though (one of the bride's maids) so I am hoping I get at least one more call. :-)
