Ok Day 5. Unfortunatley I didn't take any picture that would qualify on days 2-4!
Another picture of the wonderful small village Lombise!
Thanks,
Benjamin

Day 4
The temperature has been milder for the last few days so I take this opportunity to go out to take pictures. It has been bitterly cold in the last days of December, too cold to go out, so I'm making the most of this nice weather even if the sun was not present. |

Another photo from my general work area, the Mercado is approximately 2 square blocks, with tons of great photo ops.

An OK shot, there are parts to it that I like, but the spark isn't there. Having said that ... our little birds love it every spring. So it is a good functioning dwelling. |

Day 5, taken from the comfort of inside:
Will try and catch up on commenting later tomorrow. I have to teach a class on rabbit and guinea pig care at the shelter tomorrow, although last time I checked there weren't any guinea pigs there, which will make that part of the class considerably more theoretical ;-) |

These things are popping up everywhere. Over time there will be 100 of them around our town.
Horse In The City is a citywide public art installation designed to enliven cultural activity and bring tourists to downtown Shawnee. The September 2007 exhibit will release up to 100 fiberglass horses onto the streets of downtown Shawnee.
The collection I have so far can be seen here: Horse Collection
The website for information about the horses: Horses in the City Website
To answer a comment....Other cities in Oklahoma are getting different animals. I have see the buffalo's in Oklahoma City and they are just as impressive. If I get up that way, I will try and get some shots of them as weel.

Day 5
Yes, I know we have too many of them! Actually, that was the title of the triptych but my husband opposed: "we don't have too many, we just have a lot!". hence the new title...
I still think we have too much!

Yesterday I returned home from my holiday vacation. When I logged on to dpc, I found 43 comments and 5 new favs from this side challenge. I was blown away!! You guys rock and it really made my day. Mind you, I was only offline for about 18 hours.
Today it's slow adjusting. As I type, it's 4 PM and I'm still in my pajamas... Anyway, here's today's photo (taken yesterday, of course):

Here's my day 5. It's quite a bit warmer out now and everything's turning to slush. I didn't venture too far off the sidewalks becuase I didn't feel like getting soaked. I hope everyone's having a great weekend!!

Day Five
The locks
This is just outside my building (the second to the right). I have shown you the same place from a different POV (the pub is just to the left after the lock). We have three geese that come every day as well as a couple of ducks. |

At this time, I have not heard too much about the impact of the freeze on the farms, but it looks like there is a fair portion of the fields that didn't get severely damaged by frost. The wind, 20 to 30 mph, which is very unusual here most of the year did about as much damage as the cold. If the breeze stops at night when it is cold, then frost forms, so the air being in motion was actually a good thing.
