Suggestions so far:
1. Astronaut Suits
2. red ball nose(s)
3. Birthday suits.
4. Graduation Cap/Gown
5. Mad scientists, white lab coats and truly messed up hair.
6. The professor look with tweed jackets and smoking pipes.
7. Smart wear from yesteryear as in the tweed and goggles for the guy and big flowing dresses and bonnet for the lady (think chitty Chitty Bang Bang)
8. Max and Agent 99 (Get Smart)
9. James Dean and Marilyn Monroe
10. Sally Field (Smokey and the Bandit)
11. Thelma and Louise (Andi in drag?!)
So, anymore ideas? :o)

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
Both very smart.
Another idea, but probably less suited to driving is to dress as rolls of Smarties candy.
Unfortunately, I believe that outside the US, they are not sold under that name, but a Nestle product, similar to M&M's is named Smarties. |

Do you guys have tubes of Smarties the same as ours here in the UK? |

At Halloween, a kid was "smarty pants" - glued Smarties all over a perfectly good pair of pants. His Mom was not pleased.
How about Rocket Scientists? |

Whoops! Got it now! Think your version would make the 'smarty pants' idea much better than our version...I don' think andi will allow sweets with the potential to melt and leave chocolate all over his seats...
So, your smarties dont have chocolate in? (man I sound like a right idiot, sorry!) |

nope, no chocolate. just little round discs of sugar -- some of them are touch tart, though. If you can't find them over there, let me know and I'll send you some. |

You should absolutely do the Sally Fields / Smokey and the Bandit theme! You wear a wedding dress and Andi dresses like an American redneck/cowboy, and you can get a big "firechicken" Trans-Am decal for the hood of your Smart! :-D
ETA: This would also present perfect "Trash the Dress" photo-ops along the way!

What about a girl scout and boy scout (or whatever the English equivalent is) in uniform? |

Smokey and the Bandit, Canon Ball Run, or Bonnie and Clyde. :-) Smart??? Only kind of, but all of those are two outfit costumes that are hysterically funny. And since it is a driving deal it only makes sense to me to go with a driving costume :-) But most importantly have fun and raise lots for such an important cause! |

Thanks to your votes we have managed to narrow it down to the following 3...
1. Mad scientists, white lab coats and truly messed up hair.
2. Smart wear from yesteryear as in the tweed and goggles for the guy and big flowing dresses and bonnet for the lady (think chitty Chitty Bang Bang)
3. Thelma and Louise (Andi in drag?!)
So, how should we make our final decision? Any ideas? |
