I am going to start a "Member of the Week" post. Every Sunday or Monday I will post the name of a member or user and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is Kelly Brannon, CalliopeKel. And here are a couple of her photos.

Great thread idea. Great first recipient. I've always liked Kel's work. She seems pretty underappreciated to me.

I am so shocked and honored!! Thank you. I did want to comment on one of the photos you posted. A musician in Italy chose to use it to represent his work. Providing link.

What a cool idea for a thread. My 7 days of fame. Sawheet!

Karen, your thread works. I had never heard of Kelly, and now I took a look at her profile and pf. Some very nice work and consistent overall quality, Kelly. Maybe you will enter more challenges now that you are the member of the week? ;-)

Great stuff. I left a couple of comments. I love the funny faces. I really ought to try some portraits myself.
Good idea for a photog of the week.

Didn't we have this idea before? No matter.
Here's another idea (from boardgamegeek).
The Member of the Week has to answer questions put by people in the thread. Also, he/she has to write Two Truths and a Lie. That is, two things that are true and one that is a lie, but they're such crazy/whacky things that it's hard for us to figure out which is which. Then, at the end of the week, the lie is revealed. ;-) |

What do you consider a romantic date? ;-)

How should I know, I'm married.
Seriously though. Romantic date would probably involve some good music and conversation, perhaps a poem recited that was written just for me topped off by some massage and dirty talk. LOL |

Nice thread.
So, then, how romantic are your dates with your husband? What does he do to make them romantic?

Is this where they lying begins? I feel like I've slipped a noose around my neck. |

Okay. You've been given a time machine to travel back in time to be the "official" (but anachronistic!) photographer of a journey of exploration in North America. Which one do you choose and why?
Examples: Columbus, Lewis & Clark, Powell. |

Yay Karen for the thread! YAY Kelly for being Member of the Week! I'm a long time fan already. :) I guess this award should automatically put you on the list for a podcast interview. I'd enjoy that! |

I love this idea. Its a great way to introduce us to photographers we are not familiar with and showcases some great new work! Thanks for doing this Karen.
BTW, some great images in your portfolio Kelly, I have spent a good long time perusing your images. |

I've always liked Kelly's work. She makes the kinds of photographs that I connect to on a very guttural level. She's not afraid to show many sides to her subjects. I think her photos are simultaneously gritty, scary, and beautiful. She's definitely one of my favourites.
