My BITE has topped out at about 5.5 or so.
I heard from my new Brazilian friend about the wakeboard article, and it (the whole article) did not make the cut for the magazine. :( I have not been added apparently to the list of editorial photograph sources for the magazine, so if then need something, they will email. It may lead to something some day I hope. (especially since he has contacts at numerous magazines)
Interestly, he says he found me through DPC, and then followed my link to my website. So keep in mind...you never know who is looking at your photos on here!

charlie had kittens (true name charlotte - as in charlotte's web. hey, i was 7), and i named them sophie, emma, benedict, batholomew, eliza, and violet. i was going through a vaguely Victorian period. maybe i'd just finished reading little lord fauntleroy of something similar...

foggy building(s)
Walled gardens/ courtyards
Nightclubs/ bars with anonymous doorways
Parkour
Things that happen early in the morning or late at night that most people miss (Tai Chi by the lake, roller derby on an old ice rink)
Stuff on the top of buildings - roof top pools, gargoyles
Some cities in Europe have entire streets that were walled off/ built over due to plague but they can still be visited.

Yay, my eldest daughter is back home for Christmas - complete with her American boyfriend! It was the first time I have met him, and luckily he seems nice enough ;¬) She is only home for 6 days though, as they are going to the States for a week too :¬( |

How about a creative name? A very good friend of mine has both parents that are doctors. They had a cat that was hit by a car, and as a result had extensive work done. (including a new hip among other things) Even though it survived for many more years after that, it was never quite the same. It became affectionately known as FUBAR! Even his parents called her that, and they even knew what it meant. :) [/quote]
Our son (now 27) then 2 1/2 named our cat ... pickers. The kitten was on his lap and he said "Mom ... pickers!" Took me a minute or so to figure out that the kitten had her claws in his leg. Thus the kitten became part of the family and was immediately named. |

Growing up we named all pets after Disney characters...Faline (Bambi's girlfriend),Jasmine (princess in Aladdin),Simba, Nala, Kiara(my current cat, named after Simba and Nala's daughter in Lion King 2!)...we eventually got older and now most pets are named after alcoholic beverages...Tia Maria,Dooley,Cacao...lol
Most are pretty creative! |

Bad news. :(
I think my poor kitty Siron is sick. She has not been eating very much for the last week or so. I have been keeping an eye on her and she now has not drank hardly at all in the past 3 days either. Her litter box is empty. :( She is listless, however her eyes are bright and she still purrs when you pet her.
I will be taking her into the pet hospital tomorrow for an exam and bloodwork. (more stuff I can't afford)
I know it is small potatoes compared to the human family issues that many of my TS teamates have to deal with right now, but it is upsetting and worrisome.

PLEASE take Siron in to a vet ASAP bassman.
I'm only speaking from a single experience - but our kitty "Tex" took slightly ill on a Thursday - didn't eat or drink much that day, but we didn't think much of it. Friday he wasn't much better, and then on Saturday we realized he'd stopped grooming himself.
We talked that night and agreed that we had to take Tex into the vet on Monday, as we simply did not have the funds available for the emergency vet.
Well, come Sunday morning, Tex had already gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
Within 4 days he went from being a hyper, somewhat stupid, lovable and affectionate little runt to gone. We will never know what happened to him, and we're just glad it didn't affect Butterscotch (the orange kitty in my portfolio) at all.
I hope Siron isn't too ill, and that you can get her better ASAP.

Good luck with Siron. When they stop eating, it is a reason for concern. Like Kashi said, if you can get her in soon, do it. The money part is always a concern (you don't even want to know what we spent on Barney this year), but some how, things always work out. Good luck and crossing my fingers for her.

Ernie, hope Siron is OK and its something minor. My hopes are with you.
Everyone at Suckville ... have a great holiday season. I'm running out of time to wish you all well. I wanted to be sure to do so before I'm away from the PC.
May everyone get their fondest wishes granted. |

Ernie, good luck with Siron - how old is she? Have them check her thyroid.
Jeanne - enjoy your time away and come back with pictures!
'Tis cold here in the desert - you can even see your breath in the morning! Still WAY better than the heat of the summer, I might add.
And while we're bemoaning our woes at this festive time of year, my sister is due for yet more surgery. She's the one who'd been on dialysis for years, then finally got a kidney/pancreas transplant, and who inevitably spends the Christmas holidays in the hospital. (Which is why I'm not big on the whole Christmas thing...) She got yet another infection - it's to the point where antibiotics are not as effective for her - and they discovered ovarian cysts as well. She has to get a complete hysterectomy and is just waiting for the surgery to be scheduled.
It's very frustrating. There's nothing I can do to help, and I can't even call her. Her internet access is dial-up so we can't converse much by email, either, though I do send a lot. I get updates from my mom via email. Bah and humbug.

Ernie, my thoughts are with you regarding Siron. I love my kitties so much that I absolutely freak out if anything is not right. I'm really glad you are taking her to the vet - and they might be willing to work with you on the money issue or work out a payment plan or something.
Lea, hope a little holiday cheer comes your way. And more than that, hope the blues are just that and not caused by anything troublesome going on in your life right now!
BTW - I'm off to Montana for two weeks tomorrow to celebrate XMas and my parents' 50th anniversary. I'm very excited because we are going to Yellowstone Park via snow coach for one of those weeks. I e-mailed Larus in advance to find out how to care for my camera in the cold, though I don't think it will help me win ribbons, LOL. He did have good tips, such as taking your camera into the cold inside its bag, letting it adjust to the temp inside the bag, and vice versa when bringing it in out of the cold. I'm hoping for some interesting shots, and bringing a hand-held external light meter for that tricky snow...
Happy holidays to all!

Thanks everyone for your kindness regarding Siron. Unfortunately the outlook is not good. I took her in first thing this morning. She was not noticabley jondiced yesterday but is today. So she has liver problems. Best case scenario is that it is "fatty liver disease" or something else that is treatable with fluids and anti-biotics.
She will be in hospital over the weekend and the nice Dr. said she would do things step by step so as not to run up the bill. So first they are going to do blood work and exrays and put her on an iv and get her properly hydrated. If she does not start eating then she gets anti-biotics in the drip. Then it gets worse from there.
It broke my heart to hang on to my dear kitty, who is only 7 years old, and have to tell the Dr. that I likely cannot go over $1000. for her treatment. How can you look into those beautiful eyes and put a price on her unconditional love?
Please keep her in your thoughts, she needs all the help she can get right now. :( :(
Ernie
