That is damn scary comparison.

I am pretty sure the Official Headshot was from "a few years ago." And we all know what can be done in Photoshop. :)

High key portraits do help melt the shadows away ;)

that AP photo has an article linked about mysogynism in politics. I think the discussion unfolding here is right in line with that one.

the whole discussion is mostly embarrassing, I think.

I don't remember anyone complaining about PM Thacher as she aged. She'd have kicked the @#$@ out of anyone who did. I suspect Hillary would do the same! (Did I spell the Pm's name right?)

I whole-heartedly agree. Politics is not pop culture.

Well, I just don't see it that way at all. Remember that in your position, discretion is the better part of valor. Or you might just knock someone off the fence to the misogynist
side. Remember to use smilies when communicating with text. Sometimes it's difficult to see a smile, or detect the humor.

I wasn't being funny, though. I am perfectly serious. Here is a discussion about Hillary Clinton aging. Just like in the AP article, but it associates that discussion with mysogynism, which I think is a valid link. I do not pass judgment and have exercised my discretion in the most judicious way by simply pointing to the link without comment on it.

Personally I think you're being a bit too sensitive. Any person running for president will receive this treatment, male, or female.
While I think the one mentioned in the AP article is definitely misogynist, I wouldn't define any participating in our discussion here in that way. And I'm not smiling or joking either.

It is well documented that women in public life are judged far more heavily on their looks than men. No one ever questioned whether Ronald Reagan was too wrinkly to be president. No one every asks a male politician about his outfit. And to the degree that such trivialities are ever used as a justification for liking or disliking a politician they should be called out as such.

LOL.. Anyone else have to look up the word misogynist????

edit post looking up the word....

Now that I've read the meaning of the word misogynist, I'm totally confused how after only 8 responses to the links, anyone can come to the conclusion that this thread was heading in that direction..

It seems to me, it only went in that direction after frisca's post.. But, maybe I'm not understanding the meaning of the word since it's the first time I have ever heard it.. Or is this just another DP forum that started off talking about an image and has now gone totally off track and blown out of proportion ??

Not questioning this fact at all. I draw the line before calling it hate. The use of the word misogynist brings hate into the equation. I believe most men who judge candidates differently due to their sex don't hate them. Some do, that's why I pointed out that Rush probably is a misogynist. Since the USA has established "thought crimes", or hate crimes if you will, I believe a trial with some smidgen of proof would be nice before you accuse someone of hate.
To get back to the original thread I believe the image of Hillary showing a very tired person will probably help her campaign more than hurt it. It shows a human side to me that never seems to shine through some of her other behavior.
