Back when I was in university (long ago), and only big businesses could afford copiers of any sort, I found myself alone, after-hours, with a copier. I had my way with it that night. No part of my body was left uncopied.

I did remember to Windex it, so as not to frighten the receptionist the next morning.

When I was 12, I worked in my father's law office. I loved the new $10k copier my dad just bought. I would put my friends' school photos on dollar bills & do such pre-photoshop-era manipulations. Then I got the idea that I could print up some pretty convincing five dollar bills if I just used some green paper. I dug around and found some thick light green stock and placed one in the manual feed thingy, put the bill in the scanner area and hit the start button. The paper was too thick and got stuck and then caught on fire deep inside the machine. It wasn't long before the billowing smoke attracted a lot of attention, including my dad's. A fire extinguisher put it out and I didn't have the foresight to quickly remove the money from the top of the copier, so guess who found it when they opened the top? Yep, the old man. Well, I survived the punishment and went on to catch many other things on fire before I left home at 17.

The moral of the story: ...none really - I was just a bad kid.

The pic turned out pretty cool there, Jay!

Because its created by light Digitally (Dpc a Digital Photography* challenge)

*Photo = Light Graphy = Drawing

nope, the very first rule is that it must be taken with a digital camera that records EXIF.

:)

But Surely anything thing that captures a Image Digitally using light is a "Digital Camera"?

by a stretch, perhaps.

but, does it record EXIF?

:)

It Records the date and image size.. Basics but i don't think there is much more it could record as it doesn't have a lens etc lol

I had the same discussion when I produced the set of images at the top of the page.

Answer was a no that time around, mainly because of EXIF reasons, but if it captures EXIF, I don't really see why not - its just as valid as the scanning backs on high end digital cameras.

Do I have to use a lens in my camera to take a picture ? :)

Also would it be counted as a long exposure because it takes 30 seconds to scan? but the Exif doesn't show that?

haha im awkward :)

This image is based on a sculpture (the rocks and the Apatasaurus) built on the scanner bed, with other images and art composited-in later.
