I've been working with a friend of mine on an instructional DVD for photography. It's now finally available in the US. It covers a lot of the fundamentals of photography in a less technical and accessible way - as well as giving a really good grounding in finding and using available light. Most everything I know about available light photography, I learned from Randy Kerr, who developed and presents this DVD.

I've written a more detailed review, along with a sample of the video on my blog, at this link. You can also read reviews of the DVD from other people who've bought it. The current price is $50 for the DVD for an hour long lesson. It recently won a silver Telly award for educational video products and is really well produced. There's also going to be a 300+ page e-book coming soon.

Feel free to ask any questions you've got about this.

Looks like a good product. I can't hear, of course, so I don't know how the voice-over is...

Just insert a gentle Texan accent when you see someone talking, you'll get the idea. Not sure if they gave thought to captioning/ subtitles - I'll mention it for future products.

Does it bond in seconds? Will it remove pet hair from the furniture? Can it get out stubborn grass stains? Does it clean up quickly and easily? Is it rechargeable? Can anyone detect I'm wearing it? Is it safe for use on babies? Does it pureé? Has it caused cancer in laboratory mice? What is it's carbon footprint? Is it available in stores? Are there limited quantities? Do I have to act now? If I call now, will you double my order? Can you hold the pickles? Am I done yet? Yes, yes I am.

I'll go check out the links now - sounds interesting.
