For the last fase of my study I have to set my portfolio.

Because I'm in the portrait / fashion-study, I (want to) have to focus on that. But I think it won't be bad to put some other stuff in it too.

There will be one complete series in my portfolio (not ready yet, still have to process them properly), that is my final assignment for my study.

I'd be thrilled if you guys want to help me out a little bit, because I can't look at my work in an objective way.

So what I'd like you guys to ask, is to pick 2 photos of my online portfolio here, and, IF you have the time, tell me why you picked them.

That way I hope I can make a proper selection...

Thanks a LOT!!

I chose 10 of my favorite photos from your portfolio and tried to round them down to two, and one honorable mention since picking two is just too hard ;)

I picked the shots which had emotion and the best first impact and something which may let the viewers imagination go wilder, has more interest and makes one think.

This one being chosen I suppose is no a surprise to you. It shows so much technical skill, composition and in their minds the viewer can come up with a story to it.

then,
The way you kept the ghosting in the dogs movement is what makes this a special capture. A shot that can work commercially.

and,
A touching shot. Looks like a family taking a walk on the beach. Nice capture of the rays and I like the PP.

Hope this helps :)

At quick glance, these two:

edited for the why:

I love your work - it's quirky, personal & the lighting is always spot on. I think both of these showcase that talent.

That SP made my top10. Great shot. Love the lighting, the stare and just perfectly toned like that.

Oh and, Good luck! :)
I'm sure you'll do no wrong in the choices you end up with. You have plenty of great pics.

I would choose these two.

I really liked this one when I first saw it. It just feels authentic (emotion, style, etc). The lighting, composition and editing are as perfect as they come, IMO. Everything just fits, which tells me you know what you're doing.

I'm not really into this type of shot (feels too posed) but for what you're focusing on I think you have to include it. I think it's very well done.

Actually, I'm changing my mind. You have a huge portfolio, most of which is wonderful. I'll change my mind to:

It hurts to leave out the shoes, but I really like the second one of this better.

This one of Sue is amazing. The angle here along with where her eyes are directed to make this really work. The pose is natural, relaxed and has a candid feel to it that makes it very soothing to view. There is a timeless quality to this that would have been a classic 40 years ago, and will be for many decades to come. The post-processing on this is b&w perfection. Truly one of my very favorite shots of yours.

I could easily list every shot in that collection as well, and was hard to single out one shot from it.

Your creative style in your self-portraits really shows a gift of vision & imagination. You don't follow down a path trying to emulate what everyone else has done and your work is fresh and interesting to say the least. Your shot FOCUS is similar to others seen around these parts, but in it's own way is quite unique. The very shallow depth of field and attention-getting focal point of your eye makes this really work in harmony. The gentle lines in the foreground are pleasing to the eye and not distracting, yet vital to the balance on this. Your post-processing on this as well as the overall composition make for a shot I could easily see in a very large print hanging in a salon or similar.

You have many shots that I could easily add here, but you asked for two. I wanted to add in Dancing Queen or La Façade, but Dancing Queen wasn't really a portrait as such like the two I singled-out above, and both would easily have been in the list had you asked for 3 or 4 choices.

I really liked the Thelma & Louise series you shot. Last time I checked it wasn't in your DPC portfolio?

yeah that's right, I wasn't a member at that time, and I haven't put them in my PF yet.

These are the ones I want to add, together with my last assignment for my study (6-8 photos)

These are my doubts. Not sure if they fit in, or are "good enough"

What do you guys think?
