Does this sound broken.
I went to a birthday party. Took out my D80 with my 12-24 lens. I took a shot. It did not display on my screen. It went right to finding something else to focus on WITHOUT me hitting the shutter button. I would push the play button to try and view the picture, but as soon as I moved the camera a weeeeee bit it would go black (The LCD screen) and start trying to focus again.
I am going to the NIKON shop. I'm going to ask them to take a look at it since it's still under warranty.
While it sucks that I won't have a camera from Monday (When they open) if it is broken in some way that is my fault...I have a good reason to get a D200 or D300....hmmmmmmmmm
Anyways, I did start a similar thread before but didn't get much help. I'm hoping for better responses this time around. If anyone has experienced this and everything. Advice welcome...

| Does it have the grip on it? If so does it do it when the grip is removed? |

It has the grip on it.
Should I remove the grip and do something?

I would try it without the grip. I find that when the grip gets a little loose it will do some funky things because the contacts are not fully engaged. The grip may be your problem.

I will give it a shot. I went to the shop and they said I had better bring it NIKON, so that's what I'll do Monday.
