Thanks, Jeffrey, and to answer your comment on the shot, I don't think I did show the original to you guys in the team thread. Almost all the shots here look a lot like that. :-) I'm really just glad I had the chance to take the shots to begin with, and that folks get to see just a bit of the beautiful country of Afghanistan. And I "own" the page for my P&S, I think. :D

Way to go Deb!!!  I think the choice of a square crop worked really well here. :)
I should point out the Jeffrey himself was in the top 20!  (don't go looking for mine...was not even in the top 100, outta my league. LOL)

I would just like to toot my own horn and point out that I had first comment on both Deb's and Jeanne's wonderful entries.

BTW, Jeanne.....I have entered every Free Study this year and with the exception of a fluke in the speed challenge, I have yet to break 6.0 in a Free Study.

HUGE congrats to Deb ... marvelous shot. Glad you're able to find such beauty around you (and the booms don't even show)!
Way to go Mr. Jeffrey. I see you've been having fun with the glassware. Did your wife make you purchase your own? Or are you having fun with the house set? Congrats, it's been fun to watch those shots emerge from your experimentation.
Jeb. It's a fluke, don't you worry. You can get back at me by assigning me some horrific place to shoot for the location side challenge. LOL. No fair looking for icy locations. Just choose what you're most interested in.
And to all, thank you for the great comments. Team Suck was very good at commenting on my pic. I appreciate all the support and coments too. Now I have to try to use the new toy MORE.
edited to say: What a way to wake up in the morn. I totally forgot it would be rolling over and the results would be up. I even wondered why my shot wasn't on the home page anymore. WOW.

Wow, everyone seems to be doing really well - I have to start getting to know my Nikon.
Took my first pic with it and it was *mysteriously* all black...forgot to take the lens cap off!!!!
And decided to be bold this year and have a small run of calendars done up for family/friends, featuring past challenge entries. Costly but hope it's worth it!! |
