Do most people submit when they feel they have a shot to be ranked high?

No, I tend to do alot of last minutes and always bites me in the behind... I know it's not good enough but I submit it anyway because I'm addicted to the scoring hahahahahaha and then I get mad for entering... |

I've come to the point where I won't enter anything unless I think it'll score well. I've had pics that fit the challenge well but were not very good technically score very badly :-( |

I enter anything and everything. Could score well - could tank big time. But ultimately what does the score matter? Its all virtual. Besides - you just never know what might stick with the voters. Some of my higher scoring images were shots that I thought were mediocre at best. Throw it out there and see what sticks. |

Score will always matter to me anyway, it's the funest part afterall! I guess you feel attached to your own entries too and is highly biased into thinking alot of it... but that's another matter, it's the excitment of the scoring going up, down, up again and not knowing where it'll stop till the end of voting! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
But I do agree with the not knowing what voters will like... and the last part =) |

I've had photos dive straight to the bottom faster than the Titanic, and also sat on Cloud 9 (just once). So, although the process is really trial by fire...I always find the race quite alot of fun to see the score, read the comments, and post in the forums. The drama can be highly entertaining at times...so just enter and have fun where ever the ride may take you! |

I'll submit if I have something appropriate. I normally don't stage a shot, but keep an eye open for something that will fit the theme. Of course, I'd like it to score as well as possible, but I still learn something from the ones that bomb. |

I would love to say I don't care about my entry scores, but, yes, I still do. Having said that, I admit that I often use the challenge for a 'sounding board' for techniques I learn, practice and hone in side challenges where comments seem to be more liberally given.
I found if I keep MY goals firmly in sight, I can handle low scores and I enter what I want to be seen and evaluated.
Again, I keep my purpose firmly in sight as I chase the elusive ribbons.

Oh no no no, guilt is definetly not something that should be part of the funness lol...frustrating but you get over it eventually and every now and again you will get some1 who comes across and understands your point and it's always good to know at LEAST some1 else liked it
So don't worry |
