its been asked a million times... all i want is to do a style like this HDRish but also with thick lines and grungish skintones and dark details... and online tutuorials for a similar style i would like to apply something like this to this image [thumb]619034[/thumb] |

There are many arguments about if this style can be done with online tutorials for free.. I have no clue, I was just being a smart-ass. :) |

i know of the DVD i bought his first one... but i cant afford the new one... could anyone maybe link to a nice hdr tutuorial that wil show how to get the harsh lines and dark details and that good stuff or maybe show me a type of tone mapping plug in for photoshop |

I've gotten a similar appearance at times with the clarify function in Paint Shop Pro. Excessive application of the clarify filter gives me an effect that almost looks like a handpainted postcard. This is an adjustment that works with the brightness and contrast to bring out highlights. I'll see if I can find out more precisely what it does.
Does the effect I did to this shot look anything like what you are trying to achieve?

You could give this tutorial written and video a shot, by our very own beautiful red headed Aussie Judi ;) That mite help get you a little closer to what you want...

make different exposures of the photo in photoshop, some revealing the dark shadows, some bright ones, change colors up a bit, give a sharpen or two. merge the photos manually, erasing what part of each exposure you like so it sticks out. thats my take on it, looks like the image you first chose was done with the lucas arts plugin, but ive never used that so i have no idea how it works:) best of luck |

Whatever happened to SEARCHING for it. Lot of online tutorials. then you have to experiment ALOT, to get what YOU want.
