Yeah, would be simple. Looking at the finger over the photo, the "mask" looks kinda soft.

That's very well done, even to get the shadows looking right.

It's very cool, but I think it's done by simply posing everyone and taking the two shots simultaneously. My guess is each guy was holding a blank white card.

Then in Photoshop you paste a lot.

Again, I think the result is very interesting! Just not that much planning. Rather, the time was in editing.

I might be a little slow but if you loook close, they all seem to be the same person. Might just be the lights playing tricks on me:-}

It is the same person.

Then I take it back: a LOT of planning. :)

That's cool!

I'm not convinced it's all the same person. There is birthmark under the left eye of the person in the red sweater. Although it could be cloned out I don't see the same markings on the person in the white tee. The hair crops also appear different, and the photographer kneeling appears to have significantly longer hair than any of the others. Those are all things you could do in photoshop but why go to that much trouble?

Also the inner most photograph doesn't contain the right image. Two photographers with the guy in the red sweater holding a previously taken photograph, and the guy in the black jacket holding a blank white card. From then just two photographs to cut and paste.

If it is only one person, I would be very interested to learn how.

put the camera on a tripod, use a wireless remote, go into position for each photo. merge them in photoshop. and there you have multipuls of yourself

The Chan octuplets? The eighth is holding the camera?

If you were to do that for this photo wouldn't you need two cameras? Seems like you would want the same identical pose from opposite directions.

i wouldn't downplay it from either a planning or editing side. it's just something that i wish i had thought of, kinda like this...

I'm having fun reverse-engineering this, it's much more complicated than just the ordinary multiple selves picture because it includes the picture-in-a-picture technique with the twist of having two points of view. I'll have to give this a try once I've figured it out.
