Folks are apparently interpreting my front bokeh as back bokeh (2 comments received saying as much). 4.56 and falling.

Oh well. Not anything I can do about it.

i got this comment that is basicaly saying that my foreground bokeh doesnt have any purpose......

hello.... its a foreground bokeh challenge!!!! how many foreground bokeh photos do people take in life? i have never seen any until this challenge... vast majority of bokeh are in the background, thats why there was a thread started with tens of entries of "what is a foreground bokeh"
so what's better to get a DNMC.... or its a foreground bokeh with no purpose??? i guess the jury is sill out on this one....

I was going to pull it because I have been doing so badly lately. Thank you voters!

yep - same here. Mine is also being interpreted that way. Oh well... at least people are stating how they are analyzing it.

I struggled taking dozens of photos until I got actual "Bokeh" in the foreground. Not a blur or an out of focus something ..actual Bokeh. Alas it is not to be...now they want to see the object in the bacground more clearly! FOREGROUND BOKEH...not BACKGROUND SHARPNESS! I give up, I don't know why I bother with these "subjective" challenges. From now on, if it is not clear what is being asked for I am out...should have gone topless!

Bokeh, whether foreground or background, is not supposed to be the subject, but to enhance a subject. So if you can't see the subject clearly, well, honestly, I understand where your commenters are coming from.

You might have to re-consider that, for even on most clear and specific challenges voters (and few commentators) have a way to get on the nerves...

Very disappointing...After voting, I rekon only about 5% really understood bokeh. Most were simply distracting out of focus foregrounds that had no rhyme or reason...there were about 4 or 5 standouts that got it

Oh puleez hush, do you think dpc voters need extra reasons to vote down a photo with any kind of blur in the forground?

I found it technically difficult to get foreground bokeh that looked like it was in the foreground. My favorite shot didn't get entered because I figured if I thought it was difficult to tell where the OOF objects were located voters would have the same issue. So I re-shot with a different subject and different (shorter) lens.

Haven't looked at the other entries yet but I will assume some people have the same issue I had and give them the benefit of the doubt as to where the bokeh is located. But if it's blatantly in the foreground and looks pretty and enhances the subject, I will vote it higher.

I agree with Hotpasta. If the submissions didn't get the challege right, why shouldn't they be voted down? I stopped voting because after 20 or so I only saw one that captured it correctly. If we keep only voting because it's pretty, cute, beautiful, etc, etc, blah-blah and it doesn't even remotely meet the challenge, how the heck is anyone going to learn that the need to follow the rules and/or research the subject more before entering is an important aspect of this site. I'm fed up with being called DNMC police. I'm going to vote the way I see it. So there!

Yeah, I think stopping voting was the right thing to do if you're feeling that itchy about issues as blurry as bokeh.

I feel like a total lame brain since I did not read nor interprete the
Challenge discription correctly. I did just the opposite and am now paying for it with lots of DNMC comments. Thought of self-DQ'ing, but will chalk it up to a learning experience! At least I had fun with going out and getting the shots for what now has become the "figment of my stupidity' challenge.

Oh well. Score is my lowest ever 4.2 something :(

Good Luck Everyone Else!
