Position: Full-time tenure-track appointment in Photography/Digital Imaging at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Position begins August 2008.
Qualifications: MFA in photography required. Two to three yearsâ full-time teaching experience beyond graduate school preferred. Applicants should have experience in digital imaging technologies including camera operation, post-production applications, and computer generated imaging in a Macintosh environment.
While this position will emphasize expertise in digital processes, competency in film-based photography is expected. Conversant in the history of photography and knowledge of photography in the context of contemporary art.
Applicants should possess a record of accomplishment in creative research: gallery and museum exhibitions, grants, and other appropriate creative activity.
Commitment to, and excellence in, teaching. Ability to effectively critique a wide range of approaches to photographically based artwork. Evidence of collaborative teaching activities in cross-media desirable.
Responsibilities: Teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate courses in the photography curriculum. Consult with faculty to design and implement new digital still and time-based imaging classes. Collaborate with department and college faculty on innovative cross-disciplinary teaching. Assist in managing darkroom and digital lab facilities; participate in developing strategies for additional facilities. Ongoing, active development in creative research, teaching, and service is required. Faculty members participate in department/college/university committee assignments, professional and community service, and student mentoring.

Breakthrough is seeking a Interactive Media Developer/Manager for the New
York office with expertise in interactive media. This person would not only be an
integral part of the media team but would also manage it. The team consists
of a media outreach/web development person and a video producer and editor. The
Interactive Media Manager would have excellent understanding of the field,
and also be responsible for creating, outsourcing or overseeing media
production. A qualified candidate should have a history of managing projects and people.
They must have good communication and team building skills.
The candidate would be responsible for the following activities:
* Work with the media production team on development and strategy for

A well established agency needs to source photographers for occasional commissions in the Middle East, Russia, and Eastern Europe, Poland, Estonia etc.
The work will involve covering local stories that have a degree of significance to the rest of the world, including financial issues. You will need to reside in the area you cover, be shooting digital and be able to communicate effectively in English.

Westchester Art Workshop (White Plains NY)
Westchester Art Workshop, an extension center of Westchester Community College located in White Plains, NY (40 minutes from Grand Central Station via MetroNorth), is currently seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Digital Photography. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a professional photographer in the fine art and/or commercial realms.
The ideal candidate will also possess expert knowledge of digital photographic practices, including digital image manipulation/correction using Adobe Photoshop, image compression and processing for various outputs including print, web, and motion graphics, as well as extensive knowledge of the relevant photographic/computer hardware (digital cameras, scanners, printers, etc.).
A working knowledge of contemporary trends in digital photography as well as a strong understanding of traditional photographic practices is desired. A Master of Fine Arts degree, strong teaching skills and familiarity with the goals of a Community College visual arts program are preferred.
Course description:
This course provides a theoretical, technical, and aesthetic foundation in digital photography. Students learn technical camera usage and principals of design through shooting assignments that focus on concepts of photographic composition. Lab exercises and demonstrations develop skills using digital software to modify and enhance images for digital output and presentation. Visual presentations of contemporary digital photographers familiarize students with current trends and approaches, while expanding awareness of career opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
Westchester Art Workshop is also currently seeking an Adjunct Instructor in ceramics. The ideal candidate will have excellent wheel-throwing skills, as well as knowledge of hand-building techniques. A strong background in all aspects of the ceramics process (clays, glazes, firing, etc.) and knowledge of historical and contemporary issues in ceramics is required. A Master of Fine Arts degree, strong teaching skills and familiarity with the goals of a Community College visual arts program are preferred.
Salary is highly competitive for an adjunct instructor.

Shooting includes but is not limited to location and studio portraits, features, news stories, photo packages, public relations and events for use in both web and print.
