I'm going to write a program for my TI-84 Plus calculator to calculate hyperfocal distances so I can just plug in a focal length and an aperture and get my result...
I need to find a way to program this calculator using a text editor on my PC rather than having to key all that in from the calculator keypad. Do any of you who may have this calculator know how to do this? I know how to google answers, but the ones I have come up with aren't working out and I'm looking for someone who knows how to make it work :)

Should be info and programming that came with the calculator. Alternatively, try the Texas Ins. web site. |

I've got a TI85 that I never use anymore. Never thought of a DoF calc. Cool idea.

Get a real calculator. Buy an HP. |

Answer:
The TI-84 Plus calculator comes with a USB cable and the TI-Connect software. The TI-Connect software will not allow you to edit programming on the calculator. That requires a free program called TI-GRAPH Link. The TI-GRAPH Link software is not compatible with the USB cable that comes with the calculator. That sofware will only recognize a serial connection to the TI-84 Plus. You have to purchase the serial cable and download/install the TI-GRAPH Link software in order to do this...
FYI
Whenever I find the serial cable, I'll write the program and share it with anyone who may want to give it a try...

You can get a card with a serial port for like 5 bucks but they're only available to geeks that use graphing calculators... |
