Every challenge I've entered so far, at the end of the challenge I get a .1 - .2 boost in my score - I've always assumed that it was from the vote scrubber, or whatever it's called, going through and cleaning out the "under 20%" voters and... trolls?

So, when my bug picture was riding at around 6.725 an hour before voting ended I was expecting/hoping to maybe even be pushing a 7 after all was said and done. Instead, I lost about .02 points. :( Since I checked the score just about a minute before the end of voting, I compared the number of votes at that time, and the numbers in the voting breakdown chart on the picture, and I lost 1 vote - a 10. That kinda bummed me a little.

I'm not complaining, just whining a little. And curious if anyone's ever noticed this happen to them before. |

Like I posted in zeuse's thread, you were in my top 10 list. Your photo is unique, creative and one of my favourites. Your score may not reflect it, but I am sure many poeple in this site have admired your photo - and that's what matters! You have reached many of us. Forget the trolls, they don't deserve your attention.

		Hi Scott,

FWIW, I really liked your shot - I thought it was the best of the challenge (not wanting to take anything away from any of the ribbon winners). I think a picture has to show merit to score well in a challenge, but when you get down to the .1 and .2 differences, it's a bit of a lottery, 'cos it's down to people's personal tastes, which there ain't no accounting for.

And, yes, I've lost out as well as benefiting from the 'vote scrubber'. |

		| Thanks, guys! But, just to clarify, I'm not complaining about how I finished - it was my personal best. (Though, too bad I had to achieve it in a challenge with so many high scoring shots!) For my part, anything above a 6 is cause for celebration. I was just curious about the vote scrubbing process. |

Scott - think the same thing happened to me too this week. Must have had some high voting trolls :)

My score dropped about .1 from what it was just prior to the end of the challenge |

Scott, same here. I typically see the same increase during the last hour or so of challenges, but this time I went down right at the end. I was at 6.0 something and ended up at a 5.9 something....

 For a photo I almost didn't submit - I'm happy with it's placement... :-) |

During the Night on the Town challenge my pic was actually barely higher than crabappl3's going into midnight, then I lost a tiny fraction and his gained some, which put my pic at 3rd and his at 2nd!

It happens every week - sometimes good, sometimes bad. It's like one of those last minute surprise presents from a distant relative - you never know if it's going to be another pair of socks! |
