Anyone seen a hummer with a beak like this? Just curious what causes it?
ETA; He cant get his beak down into the feeder :(

Poor lil' fella needs braces. Question is, we'll he make it through his teenage years?

sad, looks like an old wound or a birth defect, he can probably still stick out his tongue to get the nectar though |

Probably has a fungus or some sort of disease of the beak. |

His tongue sticks out like that in every frame... he guards the feeder fiercely.
Im playing with this lens that I rented for the weekend :D

They fly pretty fast, kinda looks like he does not always look where he is going :)
Even though he can not get his beak into the feeder he should be able to get food, there tongues stick out an inch or two.

Fun lens! I rented it several times before I decided I just plain had to have it. It comes in very handy on a lot of different occasions!

I've only played with it today.... its pretty dang heavy! I plan to rent it again when I go to maui in 3 weeks to shoot the surfers and wind surfers :)
