I had a Group Portrait that should have ended up on my profile page as of 11:57, but it ended up losing enough during rollover to miss it.

Can somebody PLEASE explain what th &%$#@&% happened?

I'm guessing it was the vote scrubber, but I don't have the faintest idea how that works, and truth be told, I'm not real happy about it.

I mean, what's the point of the scoring and the update if it isn't accurate?

When people don't vote the full 20%, or when their votes are ALL 10s, or 1s or whatever, the scrubber drops them at roll. Sometimes your score goes up, sometimes it goes down.

If some one gives you a ten and your the only vote they give or they don't get to 20% then their vote gets dumped. I think there are other reasons as well but those I'm not sure of.

Functionally?

The Twilight Zone and/or the Clueless Zone.....8>)

Real time?

I have my top 6 showing on my profile page, so when I look at your profile, your group shot is your #6. Hope this makes sense!

Ah! Now I understand it......it cuts out the ones that don't make their 20%, but *also* does away with the frivolous and/or troll votes.

I was just really happy with my Group Portrait as it was 6.2484 at 11:57; the lowest on my profile page was 6.2197, so I thought it'd bump that one, yet I ended up with a 6.2166.....missed it by 0.0031.

RATS!!!!

BTW, LOVED Meow Mix.....as I said, terminally cute!

Yeah, I know I can put it there, but it's *not* my top 5, therefore it just isn't the same......WAAAAAAAAH!.....8>)

There are two things that affect votes.

One is the vote scrubber.

The other is the vote participation requirement.

The vote scrubber seems to show up only rarely and appears to affect only those voters who have heavily biased votes (ie large numbers of 1's).

The vote participation requirement is likely the cause of your lost points.

This is a result of people who vote thumbnails or who comment on thumbnails and enter a vote as opposed to skipping it when they know they don't have enough time to vote to completion.

If your pic stands out quite strongly and someone likes to browse the images during voting, then you might pick up a few votes that way that are particularly high, but don't carry through due to insufficient votes.

Lots of people have stuff happen that gets in the way of their time.
