Just really curious. Was I given a lower score because of the photo not matching topic or because of the legality of the desaturation in the picture? I actually went out to buy some neon colored band-aids so I could desaturate legally. Thank You for any comments.

Thank You, Doctor (Original)

Thank You, Doctor (Entry)

Would I have receive a different score if I submitted the original?

We wanted to see the blood... Just kidding. It was too set-up for me and didn't really give me any emotion. Van

I preferred the one you entered, it stood out more to me. It was my highest rated 'cute' pic of the challenge, and I'm surprised it did so badly. I felt there was emotion in the shot, the 'kissing the booboo' better feel.

I like the one you entered, but it seemed set-up, too fake. Also it didn't convey oops to me, it was a injury, but way after the fact, we want to see the oops, not the repair.

I gave it an 8, frankly. I really liked it.

Great crop! You definitely submitted the right version. I can't quite put my finger on why, but the extra space in the original is just distracting. You got a 7 from me.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm still waiting for comments from the people that was concerned about the legal or illegal use of desaturation. Just wondering if I should ever use it in a challenge or not?

Comments added to pic after the fact...

Faidoi,

I also did the desaturation trick (see Damn Pothole!) and on that one technical detail I think yours was LOADS better than mine. I (personaly) had a hard time fitting it into the 'oops' thing. It was like someone else who commented said kind of after the fact and not the 'oops' itself. I did give you a six though.

I actually liked yours a lot more. It was used very effectively. I was hoping yours was going to get a ribbon. Great shot.

I thought the photo was not bad, but it didn't really jump up and slap me in the face with the 'high impact' slapper. It meets the challenge and a 5.4 score is not 'bad'. It' also higher than your average score :)
