Owning it would be awesome.

You could fix up a small part of it to live in then use the rest to generate income either as a museum, a storage facility, a B&B, a movie location, a party venue. Or just run around and re-live the cold war by playing endless games of Nuclear Armegeddon and Finger on the Button.


Don't get me wrong, spending a few days in there would be a complete blast (sorry for the pun). And if I had millions sitting in the bank I'd buy it in a heartbeat! But unless you have money to burn it wouldn't be worth the $9-10K/month loan payment. Not to mention the millions it would take to re-vamp it, the insurance cost to let people in... So basically I meant it would be useless owning it on our budgets as i don't see a profitable return on investment.
