Does Yahoo allow you to directly link to pictures? If it does, right-click on the photo you want to link, select properties, then copy the URL from the dialog box.
Come back to DPChallenge and click on the little button with an image in it (second from the right) above the message editing box and paste in the URL when prompted. Then click [Preview] to see if it worked ....

The reason the flag is backwards is that you never want to see the flag bearer "going reverse" or "running away" or "retreating".

There's nothing wrong with it but, for non-Americans, a multitude of Stars'n'Stripes does get tedious, if not utterly gratuitous - and how does a shot of the SSB communicate anything about 9/11? All it really says is 'God Bless America'. It's impersonal and exclusive.
Other nationalities suffered losses on that day too (and this is an international site) so I was merely suggesting a more universal, aesthetically pleasing approach by using shots that feature less national bias and more opportunity for reflection. |
Jon -- I agree with you, but the person who started this thread specifically asked for flag photos. Even though my views on the causes and "solutions" to the "9-11 problem" diverge significantly from most people here, I see nothing wrong with remembering all of the victims (and their families, and all of us ...) with flag photos, and I happen to have some.
You (or anyone) is free to start a flag-free memorial thread as well. I actually see it as an advantage to have all the flag photos segregated out. People who don't like them won't have to see a bunch mixed in with the other memorials, and those who want to see them can see the variety of interpretations in one place.
Admin Suggestion: Create a gallery for "flag photos"
Create a 9-11 memorial gallery (handy to refer visitors to; might generate traffic for printable images) |

General, I really like the 1st shot you posted, Blaze of Glory. Nice effect on that shot.
Here's my flag pics:

Thanks! It was completely unplanned and almost straight from the camera; I think just a slight tone curve added. For the print image I flopped the image to put the Union in the upper-left as someone suggested.
Poor camera must have been tired of being pointed into the sun. |

I saw this thread this morning, so watched for some flag shots here in Colorado Springs today. This was my favorite of several...

By far no where as good as any photos any of you have, but this was just a snap shot from gz two years ago.
