Today I tried to send an email to hotmail. I got it back!
And this is what it said:
"This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:
Your message was not delivered because the return address was refused.
(blabla snip)
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address. We recommend enrolling in our Junk E-Mail Reporting Program (JMRP), a free program intended to help senders remove unwanted recipients from their e-mail lists. For enrollment instructions, please refer to: //postmaster.live.com/Services.aspx#JMRPP. What's going on?!?! |

It might have been a keyword in the topic or a string of characters together in the message that it found to be consistent with SPAM. |

But at this point anything you send from any address will be bounced back because they have placed a block on your IP address. The best thing to do would be to try and contact hotmail support and see what you can find out.
Out of curiosity was the original e-mail that started this a forwarded message? |

Unless you have a "static IP address" -- usually assigned to businesses who maintain their own websites -- your IP address will change, perhaps every time you log on. Someone apparently previously used the IP address you were assigned (this time) to send some SPAM. Your best bet is probably to completely log off/disconnect from the internet so you can be assigned a new IP address before sending to that address again, and/or contact your ISP to help resolve the problem.
This is different than someone blocking your email address. |

right, everything to hotmail gets bounced back. CRAP! And I didn't do anything.
earlier today there were no problems.. that's the weird part.
The first email that got bounced back was a normal mail from me to someone else, with a word-doc attached.
boohoo! |

Spammer Han??!?!!
Your IP address was blocked by Hotmail.
If you have a dynamic IP address then you may have acquired an IP address that was being used by a spammer or, most likely, someone with a virus.
Also, *you* (or any computer in home using the same connection) may be the one with the virus.
Recommend:
- housecall.antivirus.com to scan for virus/spyware
- contact your ISP about the IP, they can force a change so you get a different IP address - odds of you getting a different IP address when logging off/on are small, Windows *really* likes to keep the same IP when asking for a dynamic IP

One more bit here (just to confuse things); what do you use to send mail from home. You said a mail program, but that's not what I mean; is it your home ISP provided account? Or something else? If it's from your home ISP, that can be blocked, too, and is more likely the source of the block than is your personal, home IP address.
Does this "home" account have web access? If so, try a mail sent through it. It won't use your home IP address, just your web server's IP address. If that bounces, the fault isn't yours.
And, if that's the case, you need to contact whoever provides your E-mail service and have them figure out why their servers are being blocked. I've had this happen, and if they're any good, they'll do it (if that's the problem) and darned quickly, too.
Best of luck!

It could very well be the IP's you are associating with... you know, guilty by association. :D
What many places do is block a group of IP addresses rather than just one. That's because if someone did get a new IP address every time they turned their computer on, it would be easy for a spammer to get around a blocked account. So if enough complaints come from several IP addresses the blocking agent will look at all the IP addresses associated with the ones sending the spam and block them all. Some times you get a few innocents, but at least the spammes get slowed down for a bit.
So it might not be you at all, but you could be living around virtual bad neighbors. You might need to change accounts to get out from behind the block.

Frequently when I send out emails from work to aol account holders, my email is rejected as spam but then other days it goes through just fine. I have no idea why this happens and it only happens with aol. I get emails back telling me that I am on a spam list or something like that. |

Hey! I do, all the time! I now have a huge, eternally rigid penis. I can score at will with barely legal lesbian nymphos and I'm rich thanks to my efforts helping Nigerian banking officials move their money away from a corrupt government. The inheritances from my long lost uncles didn't hurt either.
I love spam! It's made my life what it is today.
Just click and you'll see what I mean. |
