I ran into this young ladies fantastic portfolio serendipitously today. Actually, someone had posted this shot in a "tips" area, and it really just blew me away as "perfect" (at least as much as I know about portraits).

Browsing through her fantastic shots, I also loved this one, a painterly masterpiece.

This whole set is fantastic.

What's also amazing is that these are all self portraits, so she can't see what she's shooting. Of course, there are a number of people here at DPC that shoot as well, but I thought you'd be interested in these.

these are way cool. is she a dpc user? I think it takes guts to do self-portraits.

not so much guts, but it's hard work taking selfportraits. running up and down between camera and posing, finding out you were sitting too much to the right or left. taking your pose at the right moment etc.

I've done a lot of SP, but I much rather shoot a model :-)

She is very good!! Perhaps someone should invite her to the party?? LOL

That first image... is it just me or does her hand make it look a little weird?? Maybe it's the way it is turned... but IMO, it looks disconnected...

anyone??

I *love* her hand in that picture ... so soft and delicate. She is obviously very aware of herself, her body, her composure. Combine that with an artful mind and a beautiful body and you've got some great talent.

It's particularly impressive, given how she was so cruelly attacked with the 'ugly stick' as a child. Bravo to her for getting past that.

Some of the best work I've ever seen. I'm not sure if I find her work inspiring though. I feel like throwing in the towel now. JK

So, how the heck to do you take a macro of your own eye? AMAZING. I really want to know.

well, i guess the reason why I think it takes guts is cuz i'm camera shy!! I'd rather be behind the camera...

DNMC...oh wait...wrong thread. Really nice work. Unfortunately for me, you have to be attractive to do good self portrait work.

Good idea about inviting her here. I've posted on that first shot, since I didn't see a way to send her a pm. Hopefully, they won't interpret it as "blog spam" promoting DPC.

why do I have this feeling Joey Lawrence would be in love with her... some similarities on photos, but I can't put my finger on...

I think most of us young guys will probably be in love with her :P
