This has happened twice now. I still don't know how it happens. The first time it happened, it was no biggie. It was just a few photos that I had backed up on a CD anyway. This time it is a huge deal. I was just post processing some wedding photos and I was editing one photo in Aperture and I decided to delete the photo from my library and it proceeded to delete all 700 photos from the wedding. Not sure how it got to select all and delete and confirm. There is no "Undo" feature, so how in the hell do I get the photos back that I just "deleted"?
Fortunately, I still have the photos backed up in my vault and still on memory cards as a second backup, but all of my edits are gone. I have spent days working on the edits. I am about to set my iMac on fire. Someone please help.
Thanks. |

Does the mac have a recycle bin? Most applications that delete files push them to the recycle bin on windows systems. I would hope the mac does the same thing.

| Thanks for the quick reply. Aperture stores in files in some wierd structure that is not visible in the normal file manager (finder). But, I did go into the Trash and found the folder containing all of my photos. It's in the process of importing them right now, so I will have to wait and see if they are all still there. Thanks for suggestion. |

Well, all the photos are back, but unfortunately, all of the edits are gone. Back to square one. Bummer.

Do yourself a HUGE favour. get lightroom instead. I used aperture for about a week and after that I sent it back to the store and was lucky enough to get a refund. It is the worse RAW editor I have ever had the misfortune to install on my Mac. It is slow, takes all the system memory into the deal, and as you have found out, it goes bananas regular.
I know it is more expense on your part but you will be so happy that the few £££s are well spent.
Good luck getting the files back, you should be OK
You can download a trial for lightroom I belive that is fully working for 30 days.. no looking back after that. |

The Mac invented the Recycle Bin although it is called the Trash there. |
