Yeah, well.....

I was just trying to lighten the moment and let you know I worry some and think about you.....8>)

I actually think that there are some occasional RPG and incendiary device issues from time to time, but it's definitely not the norm.

Just come home in one piece, okay?

welcome bassman, and patio, and anyone else i have missed in my sporadic and self centred visits.

um, what else? congratualtions jeb on being published. be very careful deb. i figured out how to do the photo a day thing, with blogger and google groups - it's all working well now, and should require little management from me (i hope).

Yikes, Deb! Those photos scared the dickens out of me on your behalf. I can't wait till you are out of there. I will say, however, that I've truly enjoyed the amazing photos you've been taking - hope it helps keep you at least a little sane in that zoo!

It's interesting that everyone here says "Stay safe". In reality, the best you can do is stay the hell out of the way of the large vehicles that roll through here. They could really ruin your day. The other thing is to make sure you drink enough water, though it's cooling off very nicely here. Only low 100s this afternoon, and I believe it may have been below 80 this morning.

There's not a darn thing you can do about the things that go "boom". Had one this morning that made me jump and left the floor of the trailer vibrating with the aftershock. But there's nothing to do about it, so you just go about your business. As someone pointed out, if you hear them, you're fine. :-)

deb, i think everyone is wishing you to remain safe, rather than ordering you to be so.

that said - don't get run over, and keep your anti-boomy-things magic charm working all the time!

I've been to Montepulciano, and I've never tasted a wine from there that I didn't like. :)

My people are from Calabria. Salute!

er - yeah - you must be catching the habit of treading carefully around these parts. Hmm, maybe not such a bad idea...

Wow. Babelfish did NOT know what to do with this:

Welcomes in the civic net of the Common one of Basciano. With the realization of this portale we have intentional to supply a service that, we augur ourselves, can be useful to ours concittadini and to all those who has our interest to know Common. The essence of this job is to guarantee the maximum transparency of the administrative action and the best participation of the citizens to the life of the Common one. I augur the good navigation and I formulate I invite to send it to us suggestions, observations and councils, in order to render most possible the communal civic net answering to the necessities of all and everyone.

On another subject, I had a fun result in impressionism. The histogram of votes is reversed for 8, 9, 10:
8: 4 votes
9: 5 votes
10: 6 votes

I think I found my audience. :)

You hit Montalcino too Don? I'm not much of a wine connoisseur, but they have some great stuff there too. Brunello is pretty good stuff. With all this Italian talk, I'm missing it already and it has only been a year to this day.

Are you kidding? Babelfish nailed it! That's exactly what Raish sounds like after four glasses of Montepulciano Citra.

No, I missed it. I wasn't doing a wine tour, just traipsing all over Italy.

Interested in your feedback, if anyone has a moment to spare. Just finally cracking open the Urban Acid action that's been sitting on my desktop getting all dusty for the last 6 months or so and giving it a try. I'm curious to know if any of you have tried this action, and what you think about its strengths and weaknesses.

Extensive internal investigation is under way to find out how Babelfish gets this information.

A shout out to our very own Kelli - her Impressionism shot netted a 6 score, a top 25 in the challenge, and a new personal best. Couldn't happen to a nicer person!

Just dropping by to find out if any of my team suck members would like to let me know what they think of my new images in my portfolio.

Sherpets 30 Day Sept. Black & White images

I am in the black and white 30 day side challenge, and enjoying experementing with duotones, as well as black and white.
I also enjoying gradient map conversions to black and white first, before I convert to greyscale, and then to duotones.
Here are some recent samples.

Black & White -

Duotone - with Navy and Apricot duotones.
