I assume you mean when you view all of your comments (e.g., by clicking on the number of comments received on your profile page)? That means the image is still in voting.
Same thing for the list of your challenge entries - the ones still in voting are in green. Actually, images in voting and images submitted but not yet in voting are in green, but of course you won't have any comments on the merely submitted ones. :)

I haven't had a lot of time to shoot but did take a few today. A lot of folks here want a CD with my pictures on it. I don't mind that, but I did have one guy say "Go ahead and just give me the full size ones - that'll be OK." Told him no. He wanted to know why - I said "they're my property and I don't want you taking credit or selling them on eBay." :-) But seriously, I do now think of them as "my property" and while I don't mind sharing (and in fact am flattered), it seems I DO mind if people want to claim them as theirs or print them for themselves without my permission. I'll make CDs, but the pics will be at screen-viewable size and resolution. And I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to make a small unobtrusive watermark/signature I could easily add to edited pics. |

Thanks much for your help - I remember when Snaffles (Susan) was selecting photos for stock she offered up her delicious brownie recipe as bait :-) I've got a pretty mean brownie recipe as well and hope maybe that will entice a few people to take a peek at my portfolio on my behalf? The brownies really are yummy... |
I'm pretty much in awe of what you manage to do, [envy]as well as speaking Japanese[/envy], so it's nice to see it officially appreciated too, then I can feel less silly. Maybe.
You will have to 'submit' these things as prints? World of difference to seeing them all self-illuminated on the screen. This also means that you might want to make part of your decision after seeing the prints. I think you should include at least one b&w - Posthumous's suggestion e.g., but this one has an impressive range of tones. For some reason I imagine that those evaluating your submissions may lean toward the - er - traditional, i.e. they're a bunch of old farts. I expect you're doing what it takes to check that out :)
Congrats.

DPC tutorial
I tend to favour the big and obtrusive myself, but you just take control now... |

If you want to make people work a bit (cropping), you could put a faint "Copyright © Deb Fort 2007" along the bottom or side.
skip has examples. |

Thats weird...cause some of the images I have submitted to side challenges only...turn up with green comments (on my B&W dragonfly in the BW side challenge...for example) Thanks for the info though..I was curious about it.

Weird, indeed. I just looked through all comments you've received since 8/26, and I don't see any of them in green.

Scrapin' along under 5, true to form - you sure Team OOF wants me, Karen?!
Very damp right now, been playing with horsies in the rain and being dragged around by large dogs (well OK one Great Pyrenees, but she's easily as strong as say a pack of 50 chihuahahas..she's aptly named Berta). Getting odd looks and sniffs in my direction from fellow Internet users, so time to go home, lol!

Catherine, I like so many of your shots, I can see why you are having trouble choosing. Some of the ones I especially like are:
I think these show a nice variety of subject and style.

Powerful Bokeh and team scores are up in the Challenge Results Thread. There were several top 5's, and Melethia is this week's MVP! |

In Bokeh, a bunch of us beat DrAchoo (who placed 57th).
:)
Good on us!

There were a lot of beautiful bokeh's from this group - and lots of great scores too!
Where's our Sneezy award?

Somewhere there's gotta be an unlicensed non-Disney Sneezy caricature that we can hijack.

Guys, I promise I'll get some comments here soon - been a very busy time at work and will continue to be busy for at least the next few days. Then I'll try to find some time to comment. And maybe shoot! :-) |

You think YOU'RE confused, Jeb? My bokeh scored low 5's. My only theory is that DPC suffers from Thanatophobia. If anyone else has a theory why this didn't score higher, let me know.

Ahhh...thank you...yes..the images that turned up green may have been in my workshop when the first comments came in. I have since transferred them to my portfolio and they are not showing up green any more.
