I just got back from voting and I noticed tons of copycats from the last challenge. :(

I did find a few original ones that really wowed me, I hope those are the ones who win :)

The copycat pics were good, just that I was turned off for lack of originality.

But overall good job to everyone. :)

What if you come up with something and then find out that some one has already won a ribbon with similar idea. Would this count as copy cat.

youre right, I figure that happens too. I didnt vote down the good ones (original or not). I was just dissapointed to see so many that looked like the past winners.

HEY!... I have news for you people out there thinking too MUCH about the "copy" stuff,

They are (winners) inspiration to the others. What if the copy idea comes out better than the last winner? Hmmm? Once you learn things from a teacher, you do be better than teachers... and next generation be better than you... with similar ideas.

As long as people don't steal the exact photo, or make it really really the same, I think each and every photo should be seeing as "new". What's with that?

Ah, the joys of having an Update button again! This one was not meant to be one of my greatest works of art, but the shoot was fun and my goal is to score better than my last Fill the Frame shot (5.05ish), so it's all good.

No, but if it has a bad guy and a wise guide, it's not a Star Wars ripoff. (Which some claim was a ripoff of several other movies).

You are right. I personaly think that one of the best parts of this sight is comming across something new every now and again. I would not try to copy a shot in the hopes of post proc it better. I prefer to take my chances trying to develop a stronger eye and entering shots that wont leave my front page looking like I have found my math for a ribbon.
