anyone entering their state fair this year? our entries are due this weekend, and the fair starts August 8th.

here are the three that i entered. i didn't realize until i got them printed that all three were dpc entries. :)



i will probably get killed in portraits (for the viking helmet shot) because that's the most competitive here. but the makeup shot has to go in "creative and experimental," so who knows how it will do. a lot of times the entries in that category are just really poorly done.

so, have a corndog and post your entries here!

I'm entering ours. Our entries are also due this weekend so I guess I'd better wrap things up. I'm entering a reworked version of this:



We can only enter one entry, though, and they all go into the photography category. All the photography is judged by one judge, in one day, in an unairconditioned building. So I guess it's only slightly surprising that this was the blue ribbon last year.

We just had our county fair last week, and we did quite well. I can't show the results just yet, as a variation of my current free study entry was entered. Our state fair is in about 3 weeks.

County Fair:
Me - 5 firsts, 1 second, 1 third, 1 fourth, color digital champion (four years in a row!), black & white grand champion

The wife - 1 second (she beat my third)

Daughter (fine art) - 2 firsts, 1 second, grand champion, reserve champion.

As soon as the free study is over, I'll show you the entries.

The Maryland State Fair ("The 10 Best Days of Summer") started this weekend. I got a first , a second and three thirds, my wife got a third and my daughter got two firsts and a Best of Show in Fine Arts.
