It's a whole lot easier to get into Alamy with a point and shoot than it is to get into the Microstock sites.
You have nothing to worry about. |

To date, I only have 98 images available through Alamy. Well, I just made my first sale on Alamy. The shot was uploaded in February 2007. It earned me $185, and I'm thrilled.

My uploaded images passed QC this morning. It only took 2 weeks. Much, much, much faster than snail mail method.

Now my account is open for upload as well - and I've uploaded 58 images (it took forever but it's still better than submitting CD's).

I received an email today saying:
Good news! You can now submit your images online using
AlamyUpload.
Weird thing is, my initial 4 image cd hasn't been approved yet, still says:
Processing - can take up to 25 days

Just got the go ahead to upload! YEAH!!!! Was just getting ready to burn and send off another CD. WHEW!
Doing a test of 2 images right now.
Found out if you use tabbed browsing, even going to a differnt tab (navigating away from the page, I guess) mucks up the upload. Open a seperate page.

Yay! I got another sale (only my second). And it was for $495 so I'm pleased. I know I only get 70% of that (plus VAT) and then have to convert it to UK£ (which is strong against the $ at the moment) but still... I'm pleased.
I know most of my stuff is travel photography taken for my own enjoyment/ record of holidays rather than taken specifically for stock (although I have been more aware of stock over last couple of years) so I know it's a lot less saleable than a lot of what's on Alamy, especially given that every man and his dog take and submit travel photography. That and the recent feedback on the tiered rating thing had me resigned to not getting any more/ better sales at all.
So I'm pleased!

Very Nice!! I waiting for more 3 QC's to get done so that I can get a little more variety, besides the first disc of "tractor" pics. LOL

Shameful though it is, I must confess that I'm about a year and a half to two years behind in terms of processing, keywording and uploading shots from several trips, both overseas and here in the UK.

Me too, but here's the thing.... I signed up for an account only a few months ago and have never submitted a thing. I feel badly that you all had to wait for such a long time. |

We just had a small batch go through inside a week, too - looks like Alamy are really getting on top of things. |

Made another sale today, for well over $1k (US) so am extremely happy. Made a smaller sale 2 weeks ago for $495. (These are the sale prices - so take commission off that to work out what I get).
I'm chuffed to bits.
Also the alamy upload seems REALLY fast for us - the last images we uploaded were approved within a week!

Hey just been approved Alamy, need to keyword now. Do you list them with a space or a comma?
Thanks

Er... I keyword before uploading - using Photoshop which puts keywords into the metadata - Alamy reads mine straight from that.
But I think it's a comma their interface requires as well.

I finally got approved for alamy upload. I have been waiting a long time for that. I'm excited to hear the turn around is much faster this way.
