Hey all 10D users,
I have a 2.0x version II extender for sale that I just recently purchased. I'm the second owner, it's a total of approx. 3 months old and in perfect condition. I need to part with this 'cause the projecting front element interferes with the rear element of my 100mm macro; a Tamron works better for me.
If any of you are interested in this very nice extender, I will offer it to DPCers first. If no one wants to give it a good home, I'll offer it on ebay.

Is this the one that only works with the L range lenses ? I don't think the canon extenders work with their consumer lens range at all.

How much are you asking for it ?

I thought the only thing that wouldn't work was the autofocus. The way I read their site you can use the extender and manually focus any Canon EF lens but if you want the lens to AF, you have to use L series lenses. Is this correct, kirbic?

@Gordon,
You are correct about the "L" compatibility, and furthermore, not ALL L lenses are compatible. Here's the straight poop from Canon's website...

@Kevin,
Many of the non-L lenses will not mount to this convereter, since the front element of the converter sticks out. I can for instance mount the 100mm/2.8 macro with a 12mm extender between them, but I lose infinity focus. the macro performance is beautiful, but the Tamron gives me very close to the same performance, and infinity focus too.
If you've got one or more of the above L lenses, this is the one you want though.
As far as an asking price, I will take $225. that pretty much offsets what I have in it. I will add actual shipping costs to your zip code.

Some of the L lenses loose autofocus ability.
Typically the 2x converter drops the max aperture by 2 stops, and autofocus only works at 5.6 or larger (smaller number) so if you put a 2x converter on a f4 lens, autofocus stops working (aside from some duct tape fixes)

@Gordon:
If you can believe the last column in the above chart, that's not always the case. Since i don't have any L glass, that's impossible for me to directly verify.
