Mpix does 8x10s for 1.99 (2.49 for the metallic paper)...

ETA: of course, there's always S&H to figure in as well.

This thread has done a good job of making me lose respect for wedding photographers.

Costco has 8x10 or 8x12 prints for $1.49. Fuji Crystal Archive paper (either glossy or "lustre" finish); a 12x18 is $2.99. So far I've found the color and quality to be consistently good, and images can be uploaded via the internet and picked up at the store in 1-4 hours.

You do need a Costco membership which has to be factored into the price, though I (like many people) have one of those "anyway."

Costco is the quickly becoming the printer of choice for a lot of the photogs in my area. Maximize profit margins, plus they sell 5lb bags of gummie bears for like $6

Flavoured chips in flavoured dip = YEAH BABY!

I don't know why chicks insist on using plain chips in dip. :-/
08/21/2007 03:48:03 PM · #237
Cuz, chicks think the dip has got all the flavah.

The new doritos crossover bags with Bleu Cheese and Buffalo Wing flavoring are weak. WEAK!
08/21/2007 03:59:33 PM · #240
If ya want wings go to Hooters, not to a bag of Doritos. :-P

Please, let's stay on-topic.

If we are done with complaints about attitudes, let's just let the thread die, OK?

Not quite under 2, but an 8 x 10 is $2.35 Here, and I feel the prints I've gotten are awesome quality :-)

Use a pro lab and pay wholesale prices and you do the color correction. I've paid as little as 85c for quantities of 50 or more (for reunions, actor head shots, and such)

The labs that charge more are just squeezing your balls LOL

I do my own color correction and tell Mpix not to do theirs ... and maybe they're not considered a pro lab (??) but I've tried several pro labs not only in my state but elsewhere and the Mpix prints look nicer to me (and Mpix was much cheaper for the lower quantities that I typically order).

Remember, being a wedding photographer isn't just about taking photos. Trying to control 70+ people and line them up into a group shot, whilst keeping a smile on your face and without looking like some prima-donna art-student whilst all the time watching the clock because the chef is going fucking mental as the souffles have just gone in and oh look, you're losing that amazing light we get for about 15 minutes in the evening, you know, the type of light that is best for formals of the B+G, oh and I must go and get shots of the tables and favors before everyone sits down, no time to rest, must be ready for speeches then cake cutting, hey lets go for that first dance, you want reportage thrown in there as well, sure we do that, off home, go through 1300+ images, get album designed, get album sent off, get those prints that aunt fanny has ordered from the website sent off, venue visit for the next couple, sure we're on our way, put together memory board from pre-wedding visit, take more bookings, pay suppliers, keep on top of paperwork, oh crap, got another wedding tomorrow, arrange assistant, get to brides house get shots of her getting ready, yes sir I do know how to tie a cravat, bride into car, drive oneself to venue, get shots of her getting out of car, run in venue, gets shots of ceremony, get everyone outside afterwards for that confetti shot, try to control 70+ people and line them up into a group shot, whilst keeping a smile on your face and without looking like some prima-donna art-student whilst all the time watching the clock because the chef is going fucking mental as the souffles have just gone in..

and thats worth $500 of anyones time?
