Day 47

08/17/2007 10:32:00 AM · #1427

I probably should have entered one of these downtown shots into the Urban Landscape, now that I've looked at the photos there, but none of the ones I took jumped out at me as Urban Landscape per se. Guess it depends on your interp. Anyway - here's another building. I'm so crazy busy right now that I've not had time to shoot and process fresh ones.

I'm back from vacation & thanks to sherpet's nomination, I received a Yappie! Here are my pictures from the days I was gone (I want to go back!) :)

Day 48

congrats to all you who stuck it out... I regret to say I kind of pooped out with the end in sight - mostly too overloaded between work and family and squeezing in the extra time for taking shots, post processing, and commenting just did not happen the last few days. I most regret not commenting more, you all deserve more comments from me.

Sorry - some simply wonderful and beautiful photos.

Well, I am off to fish tomorrow, because that is what I like to do when I am feeling overloaded. Oh, and I have to ride my Honda 250 trail bike 45 minutes to get to my fishing hole... I am looking forward to it!

I hope to see you at the next side challenge, but no more 50 days for me... I get my numbers screwed up when the date of the months change.

Bud, I can feel myself losing time and energy, too. No worries, you played very well!

I agree it's a pain to try and remember the day and date for a 50 day mini-challenge! I'm glad I'm not the only one. :-)

Winding down, and since I didn't get a chance to say it before (or did I?), thanks Rebecca for getting this going, and thank you everyone for all your encouraging comments. I'll be following your work with interest in the months to come.

Day 48:

I am trying to figure out how we can continue this, like, forever. It's so much more fun doing such a thing as part of a group than it is on my own. To do it right, though, it takes a lot of time, because the commenting one of the best parts. Hmm. Well, if we don't have some kind of thread here for it, I at least will probably be starting an offsite photo blog for my own project, with an RSS feed -- so anyone who is inclined to want to continue, maybe we could all do that and then monitor each other's feeds? It's just been so good for me to try to capture at least a little of each day in a photo, and I have so many changes coming up in my life in the next months, I want to have some motivation to chronicle them.

I could use a break for a bit, but I see no reason why it can't be started up again in the near future. Forcing myself to shoot and process every day has pushed me a bit out of my comfort zone and allowed me to express myself more than usual. I looked back at my 48 days and can't believe how time has passed and the photos I've taken. And certainly all that I've seen here and commented on; it's an amazing collective body of work. It's a breath of fresh air to find good in photos and not reasons to knock a point off for a technical flaw.

I need the break after this is over, but I'm game to start up after a few weeks off. Anybody want to continue with rachelellen or come back sometime in September?

I'll be updating my PaD blog with the shots from this challenge, then just continuing on in that.

How about we start anew in October? That will give us all a good break and maybe inspire some new people to join, too. Though I hope that a lot of the 'old' ones come back. I have totally loved this side challenge.

October sounds perfect to me. I have no idea when DPL will start again but I think that will be a while also.

Day 48:

I agree with a start in October, by that time I'll be settled in my last semester & things will have slowed down a bit.

October sounds good to me too. I could use a little time off to work on convincing the family that I do not have a compulsion.

This has been a lot of fun, although keeping up can be a challenge. Interesting getting a peak into other's lives in 50 days...a new baby, a new husband, a new condo, vacations, pets, children...

If we pick this up again, I'll try to do a better job with comments...I certainly appreciate the feedback I got.
