at least six times! I am having problems when I resize for dpc. I've experimented alot but can't seem to find the right combination to NOT have the pixilation or whatever its called in the background. I would appreciate any comments or help. Thanks, Marjo

I'm not sure what you are asking and is this an entry for one of the current challenges? If so you shouldn't be discussing it. As for the photo, it seems fine to me considering its size. You can always lessen the sharpening slightly and see if that helps. This is just a little confusing on precisely what you consider to be wrong with the photo. Do you see some noise? If so try using NeatImage which you can download a free trial version.

I did not enter this in any of the challenges and it's not like any picture I entered in any challenge. I am just trying to figure out how to clean it up and was asking for help.

In reference to the blue sky, I have tried many different combinations. Sometimes they look a little better but still not smooth.

Thanks for the link on resizing. I'm not sure that that is the problem, unless I'm doing it out of sequence. It's usually the last thing I do.
I wasn't able to download the NeatImage free trial for some reason when I tried previously. I'll try again, though.
Thanks.

The only place I see a problem is at the very top left, where the low resolution has made the top of the wall a bit jaggy.

This is somewhat unavoidable when you have so few pixels, but a couple of things can help. Try rotating your image so the top of that leftmost wall is horizontal, then reduce the size and see if it makes any difference. Most jaggies are caused by straight lines on a slant.

Also, as mentioned before, undersharpen images like this to avoid accentuating the jaggies.

To smooth out noise in the sky, try selecting it with the magic wand tool and using the Gaussian Blur filter. Or just run the Blur Tool over the bad spots ....
