This always seems to be my luck. I shot these three shots on Friday the 10th, just 72 hours before this challenge is announced. Oh well.

They probably wouldn't have done well anyway because you can't really see the wings.

There are a lot more things with wings than birds and bugs. Let's hope there's a diverse set of entries for this one.

I'm pretty sure there will only be one like mine.

I'm in..tried to think outside the box. I know that is kinda dangerous here. That'll mean it can either bomb or do well. I expect the first :-P

I admit that my first instinct was to go to the butterfly exhibit at the zoo and get my shot there, but thanks to all the time I've spent at DPC I decided to think outside the box and do something a little different. That's why I love it here, it's really helped me expand my creativity. It will probably still bomb, but I'm still proud of myself for getting creative!

im so excited about my entry :-D

I really like mine too but it's more on the figurative side so hard to say how it will go over.

Just got back from a nice vacation (although mostly without internet). Hope I can find something with wings in time (have to put 10Gb of photos on my computer first).

I'm excited also, to see how my entry will fare! I think it's mighty cool but I've thought THAT before! :P

Can hardly wait to see all the winged wonders!~~~

Well I've made two runs at getting the perfect shot this week and was hoping a third try today would bag it, but it's raining like hell and not supposed to let up for days so I might have to skip this one.

People will shoot what is most accessible to them. Those with macros with access to butterflies will shoot that. Those with angel wing props and a pretty model will shoot that. Those who like candids will shoot some b/w bird shot in a feeding frenzy. And yes we'll probably get some entries that focus on the latter part of the challenge description and they'll be hit with DNMCs.

What I want to see is a shot that A) doesn't show any wings and B) doesn't show the person or thing floating yet still have a strong sense of wings. I so want to hand out a 10 again.

I'm in ..... I don't get excited very often but I am really hoping for a personal best with this one (that's the cue for it to bomb to a 5.0) Although it wont be obvious, I put a lot of work into this one so fingers crossed it just MIGHT hit a PB.

Good luck everyone

Mine doesn't show any wings and nothing is floating, so please feel free to give mine a 10! :)

Which brings me to the question-if there are no actual wings in the picture, is it going to suffer in the scoring? For example (and this is just an example), the picture that someone posted earlier in the thread of an airplane where you can't see it's wings-do you think that it would be voted lower by some because you can't see the wings or would it work just fine because obviously airplanes have wings, even if you can't see them in the photo? I took a great picture that is obviously wings related, but there are no wings in the photo and I've been really back and forth about it. I keep being tempted to change my submission to something else, but I love this photo so much that I think I may just stick with it and hope for the best. All I know is that the first comment I get that says "where are the wings?" is going to cause me to throw my laptop out the window, lol. Hey, maybe if I glue some wings to it, it will fly!

I hope people read the challenge description, because mine doesn't have any physical wings at all in the photo. Not even something that has wings which aren't in the frame. Figurative wings. I'm expecting alot of DNMC's though, I did the best I could with the title though I don't expect everyone to believe that I intended it the same way as it's presented.

People are gonna think it's a shoehorn, but I know it isn't so that's what counts to me. Regardless, a shoehorn won the blue ribbon before it got DQ'd for invalid time/date not long ago. So maybe it won't affect my score too much anyways. *crosses fingers*
